Oaxaca City or "Verde Antequera", as it was called in colonial times, is the City of Green Stone. Oaxaca's monuments and streets showcase some the most impressive of colonial architecture of the 16th and 17th centuries.

The city was home to several giants in Mexican history: Benito Juarez, Porfirio Diaz, Jose Vasconcelos, Rufino Tamayo, and more. Sights visited to give you a good feel for the city include the Anthropology and History Museum, Santo Domingo Church, Fountain of the Seven Regions, and Benito Juarez Market.

Monte Alban Oaxaca - Shared Services

Spend a half day exploring Monte Alban, a large pre-Columbian city in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca. Located in the central Oaxaca valley, Monte Alban was founded in 500 B.C. and was the region's most important trade and social-political center for nearly 1,000 years.

Begin your guided journey at the top of the hill where the ruins stand 1,300 feet above the Oaxaca valley floor. The views of the surrounding area from the site are stunning.

Explore the large main plaza that is surrounded by ancient structures and carved stone monuments, 2 large, raised platforms to the north and south, and impressive stone staircases.
