Experience and spend time in the breathtaking scenery of the Norwegian fjords, and enjoy the cultural and historical sights of the three Scandinavian capital cities, Copenhagen Oslo and Stockholm, each with its own character and special attractions.

Begin your northern Europe tour in Copenhagen, Denmark’s vibrant and lively capital, Spend 2 nights here. A morning tour will include the Stroget, one of Europe’s longest pedestrian streets with its many shops, stores, restaurants and cafes, Tivoli Gardens, a very popular amusement park, the Carlsberg Glyptotek with its museums of art, the National Museum, the old Stock Exchange and the Nyhaven, one of Copenhagen’s major canals with its beautiful old houses. Also you will see the Amalienborg Palace, home to the Danish Royal Family, Christiansborg Palace, seat of the Danish parliament and Rosenborg Castle, home to the crown jewels. No visit to Copenhagen would be complete without seeing the Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen’s harbour.

The following day, board the ferry for an overnight journey to Oslo. On arrival, the next morning, drive across countryside which alternates between forests of pines, and lakes arriving at the beautiful Hallingdal Valley. En route, visit Geilo, a small town surrounded by mountains and famous for its ski resorts. From here, drive to the impressive Hardanger fjord reaching Lofthus for overnight, one of Edvard Grieg's favourite haunts, and one of the most beautiful points of the fjord.

Depart Lofthus and travel back along the Hardangerfjord to Brimnes crossing the fjord by travelling via the newly opened Hardanger Bridge, one of the longest suspension bridge spans in the world. After reaching the other side, continue to Bergen where there will be a tour which includes St. Mary’s Church, 750 year old Haakon's Hall, the colourful and picturesque fish markets and the old Bryggen area, the old wharf area and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Overnight in Bergen.

Travel next to the historic town of Voss, with a stunning background of snow clad mountains. Here board a train across the mountain plateau to Myrdal to connect with the World famous Flam railway, the highlight of the day. Experience one of the most spectacular rail journeys descending down from the Mountain station of Myrdal to the quaint fjord village of Flam. Here catch the afternoon ferry on a breath-taking crossing along the Aurland & Neroy fjords, branches of the Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in Norway. Disembark in Gudvangen and then continue by coach through one of the largest tunnels of Norway. Eventually, reach Loen, beautifully situated between mountains, lakes and fjords, for overnight.

Here enjoy a trip to the Briksdal Glacier for a visit to the foot of the glacier travelling by small motorized "Troll cars" and walking through Norwegian nature to the top of the glacier. Depart from Loen and continue through the wonderful Norwegian mountains to Dalsnibba, an observation point located 1475 metres/4800 feet above sea level with a spectacular view of the famous Geiranger Fjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Continue downward to Geiranger for 2 nights’ accommodation. Before dinner, a special tour of a veteran car is offered. A number of these beautiful cars were used around the Geiranger area in the 1920's and 1930's and are still in excellent condition.

The following morning, take the ferry, crossing the dramatic Geiranger Fjord, situated among lush mountains and wild waterfalls. Travel from Geiranger to Hellesylt with its beautiful unspoiled landscape. After disembarking in Hellesylt, travel to Trollstigen or Troll's path, one of the most dramatic and visited areas in Norway. Travel the 11 hairpin turns on this stunning stretch of road that winds its way along just over 100 kilometres/ 62 miles of incredible landscape.

Depart for the capital of Norway, Oslo located on the Oslo Fjord. It is laid out in the shape of a horseshoe around the sea and is surrounded by green hills, forests and mountains. Spend 2 nights here.

Next day, have a tour of the capital of Norway, Oslo which includes the Opera House with great views of the city, Frogner Park with its open air Vigeland Museum with 212 large sculptures and the Royal Palace, designed in the Neo-Classic style and home to the Royal Family. There will also be a visit to Bigdoy Island with its many museums.

Travel the following day to Stockholm by coach and train. Spend 2 nights here. The city is spread over 14 islands connected by 50 bridges. It combines classical and modern architecture reflected in many of its interesting buildings and is a city rich in culture and history. The next morning, you will have a sightseeing tour which will include Gamla Stan, the old town, dating back to the 13th Century with its cobble stone streets, alleyways, quaint shops and palaces and home to several museums. Also drive by the City Hall, venue for the Nobel Prize presentations and Fjallgatan, perched on top of a hill where you have amazing panoramic views of Stockholm.

Day 1

Arrival in Copenhagen

Arrival to Copenhagen Airport, meet & greet by your English-speaking representative, for Regular Arrival Transfer Service to the hotel.

For check-in (Please see notes below for this service). Please consult the welcome letter which you will receive on check-in to your hotel, and kindly note where and when to meet your tour leader. A short welcome meeting will be held at 19:00, where you will receive information on the upcoming tour program while enjoying a welcome drink. The rest of the day is at leisure.

IMPORTANT NOTE! Regular Arrival Transfer Services, included in the program, are only available for transfers from the Airport in Copenhagen and only on the official start date of the tour. The transfers are escorted by an English-speaking representative and are shared with other fellow passengers; therefore, minor waiting time at the airport may occur.

Day 2

Copenhagen

This morning we depart by private coach with your local guide for a 3-hour city sightseeing tour. We start with a drive towards the City Hall Square where the famous pedestrian street "Stroget" begins. We pass the Tivoli Gardens, the New Carlsberg Glyptotheque, the National Museum, the Old Stock Exchange, the Naval Church, the Kings New Square, the Royal Danish Theatre, then through the old canal area, Nyhavn. From here, we continue to see the impressive Gefion Fountain, the Royal residence, Amalienborg Palace, and the statue of the Little Mermaid. We will also delight in Christiansborg Palace, housing the Danish Parliament and Rosenborg Castle. The afternoon and evening is at leisure.

Day 3

Copenhagen - Oslo

After breakfast, morning is at leisure. In the afternoon transfer to the pier by private coach to embark the DFDS Seaways overnight ferry. At approximately 16:30, departure to Oslo. Buffet dinner will be served on board.

(Commodore Class cabins are with Queen Size beds. Clients requesting Twin beds will be accommodated in Outside 2 berth cabins - not Commodore Class. Breakfast is however still provided in Commodore class restaurant)

NOTE: Passports must be shown when travelling between Denmark and Norway on the DFDS ferry. Clients travelling with E.U. identification cards only may not be allowed on-board.

Day 4

Oslo - Lofthus

Breakfast is on board. Arrival to Oslo at 09:45, after disembarking we will board our private coach. We drive across Honefoss, Nesbyen, surrounded by a landscape, which alternates between forests of pines, and lakes; we arrive in the beautiful Hallingdal Valley. Just a few kilometres away, we will visit Gol followed by Geilo, a small town surrounded by mountains and famous for its Ski resorts. We will drive to the impressive Hardanger fjord, where we arrive at Lofthus, one of Edvard Grieg's favourite haunts, and one of the most beautiful points of the fjord. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 5

Lofthus - Bergen

Depart Lofthus and travel back along the fjord until reaching Brimnes where we will cross the splendid Hardanger fjord, by travelling across the newly opened Hardanger Bridge. The Hardanger Bridge has one of the longest suspension bridge spans in the world, and the longest in Norway.

After reaching the other side, Bruravik, we will continue our journey to Bergen. Early in the afternoon, we meet our local guide at the hotel, for a 2-hour panoramic sightseeing tour during which we will delight in St. Marys Church, Haakon's Hall (no entrances), the colorful and picturesque fish markets and the old Bryggen area. Evening is at leisure.

Day 6

Bergen - Flam - Loen

Early morning departure from Bergen and travel to the historic town of Voss, with a stunning background of snow clad mountains. Here we board a train, which will take us across the mountain plateau to Myrdal where we change to the World famous Flam railway, the highlight of the day.

Experience one of the most spectacular rail journeys, descending down from the Mountain station of Myrdal to the quaint fjord village of Flam. Here we have some free time before embarking onto the afternoon ferry, which will carry us on a breath-taking crossing along the Aurland and Neroy fjords, which are branches of the Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in Norway. The coast offers very strong contrasts, sometimes you will experience rocks falling dramatically into the fjord while other stretches of the river turn into a wonderful green. Disembarkation in Gudvangen and continuation in coach, through one of the largest tunnels of Norway. We continue our journey through Lærdal and Skei until we reach Loen, beautifully situated between mountains, lakes and fjords. Dinner and overnight at the prestigious hotel Alexandra.

Day 7

Loen - Briksdal Glacier - Geiranger

Optional Excursion: Briksdal Glacier, an arm of Europe's largest Glacier Jostedalsbreen. Not included in trip price.

After arriving at Briksdal Glacier, we will make a visit to the foot of the glacier, travelling by small motorized "Troll cars" and walking through Norwegian nature to the very snout of the glacier. Here we experience the glacier's breathtaking blue ice. After the visit, there will be free time for lunch at your own discretion.

It is not possible to book this excursion in situ. THIS EXCURSION MUST BE PRE-BOOKED TO GUARANTEE SPACE.

Passengers not joining the optional excursion, who prefer to enjoy the hotel and its facilities, will be picked up at around 16:00.

We leave Loen and continue our journey through the wonderful Norwegian mountains to the famous point of Dalsnibba, an observation point located 1.476 meters above sea level, with a spectacular view of the famous Geiranger Fjord, UNESCO World Heritage. (The visit to Dalsnibba is subject to climate permission - cannot be guaranteed). Once our visit to Dalsnibba is finished, we continue our journey downward to Geiranger for check-in at our hotel. Before dinner, a special tour of the Veteran car collection of The Mjelva family is offered. A number of these beautiful cars were used to show tourists around the Geiranger area in the 1920's and 1930's and they are still in excellent condition. Dinner at the hotel is included.

Travel from Geiranger to Hellesylt and be inspired by this beautiful unspoiled landscape. After disembarking in Hellesylt, we travel north to Trollstigen or Troll's path, one of the most dramatic and visited areas in Norway. Travel the 11 hairpin turns on this stunning stretch of road that winds its way along just over 100km of incredible landscape (Weather permitting as road closures can occur). Lunch stop in-route (not included). In the late afternoon, we arrive back at the hotel. Dinner at the hotel.

Oslo

After breakfast, we will embark on a 3-hour city sightseeing tour in the Norwegian Capital, beautifully situated by the fjord. We will enjoy the view from the Opera house before heading off to Bygdoy Island, where we will visit the Viking Ship Museum (entrance included), with its three Viking vessels. We will pass by the Royal Palace and the main street, Karl Johan. Free afternoon.

Day 12

Stockholm

Depart for a 3-hour city sightseeing tour. The city of Stockholm, often called "Beauty on Water", is built on 14 islands and connected by 57 bridges. The sightseeing tour includes a walk in the Old Town, and visits to the city's symbols, here included the City Hall - with its Blue and Golden Halls, where the Nobel festivities take place every year. Feel the medieval atmosphere of the Old Town with its Cathedral as well as Stortorget, where the Stockholm Blood Bath took place. The afternoon is at leisure.

Our local representative will meet you for the Transfer Service to Arlanda Airport.
