7 Night Adriatic & Greece Cruise: Venice to Venice

Duration
8 Days
Prices:
On request

Enjoy a Europe cruise filled with culture and adventure on board Norwegian Star. When you arrive in Dubrovnik, be sure to spend some time on the famous, limestone-paved main street – the Stradun – in the historic Old Town. Make colossal memories by hiking to the top of the Acropolis in Athens. In Santorini, savour the breathtaking views and a traditional Greek meal complete with authentic food, wine, music and dancing.

Please see LEFT BAR for ship details and cruise info.

Embark on an 8-day, five star voyage that visits several of Europe’s highlight cities, enjoying the beauty of the Adriatic Sea, and the luxury of the Norwegian Star in between.

Could there be a more iconic departure city than Venice? Arrive early if this is your first visit to the floating city that has captured the imaginations of millions. Or plan a return visit, as Venice will never run short on secrets for you to discover. It’s also worth booking an extra night in the city itself (rather than on the mainland), to enjoy its beauty and mystery after dark, away from the big tour groups.

Settle into your cabin on the Norwegian Star, a 5-star vessel that boasts fifteen dining options, plus eleven bars and lounges, a casino, and plenty to amuse kids of all ages.

Your next port is Dubrovnik, the fabled walled city of Croatia. The poet Lord Byron called it ‘The Pearl of the Adriatic.’ The walls may have been designed to keep out hostile armies, but they’re a must-see attraction for visitors today. Beneath a canopy of orange roofs, Dubrovnik is a centuries old city that offers an alternative style of Mediterranean romance, even boasting a few picturesque beaches of its own.

After a day at sea to rest, dive into Europe’s oldest city, Athens. While the Acropolis might immediately spring to mind, this is also the birthplace of democracy, public works, and even architecture as we understand it. A day here offers you at least a taste of that legacy before sailing on to Santorini. This is the Greece of postcards and wistful Mediterranean daydreams. Think striking blue roofs atop white buildings overlooking the sea. Safe to say you won’t be the only visitors here, but the island is so enchanting, it’s hard to care. Your final stop in Greece is Katakolon, a small town with a big history. As the gateway to Olympia, this is the birthplace of the Olympic Games, as well as the inspiration for much of Greek mythology.

Take another day at sea, bound for perhaps the Mediterranean’s other great ancient capital. Arrive in Rome early in the morning, and disembark. Consider booking an extra few nights to explore all the eternal city has to offer, from the Colosseum and Forum to the cavernous museums of the Vatican. Return visitor? Find a favourite trattoria and immerse yourself in the charm (and occasional chaos) of the capital’s dolce vita.

Day 1

Venice, Italy

Embark - 17:00

You could start a discussion about Venice by praising its restaurants, wine bars, marble churches or blown glass. But you probably won't. You'll likely start with the fact that Venice is built on water. It is a place where people either float slowly down palace-lined man-made waterways or stroll down narrow alleyways. There's no more extraordinary place to find yourself, or lose yourself.
