Adriatic Explorer Cruise: Dubrovnik to Opatija

Duration
8 Days
Prices From:
US$ 1,767

FIRST-CLASS | CRUISE: The perfect way to experience the Croatian coastline is on a cruise. Set sail aboard a Deluxe cruise vessel, including hot tubs, beautiful sun decks and spacious cabins. Discover small waterfront towns and wander memorable Croatian islands, in between exploring the most stunning cities and natural sights of the Dalmatian coast.

From the storied walls of Dubrovnik to arts loving Opatija, Croatia’s coast awaits you on this 8-day cruise to many of the country’s Dalmatian highlights.

Consider booking an extra day or two to experience all Dubrovnik has to offer, perhaps booking a day trip or two. You’ll embark at 1pm and set out for Korcula, the legendary birthplace of Marco Polo. This ‘mini Dubrovnik’ enchants with its narrow streets and hopping evening life. Then cruise into the delta of the Neretva River, visiting the archaeological museum of Vid. Overnight in Metkovic before sailing into the historic city of Split, the second largest city in Croatia and the largest on the coast. Here, you’ll enjoy a tour of Diocletian’s Palace and a walk through the historic old town.

The following day, head to Krka Waterfalls National Park, stopping in to try some local wine en route. This series of 17 falls creates one of the country’s most beautiful natural wonders. Overnight in Sebenik, an essential part of Croatia’s coast where you’ll enjoy a guided tour, with time to explore the old town. Then it’s on to Zadar, an important metropolis in historic Dalmatia, and today one of the most energetic and culturally engaged cities in Europe. The music even reaches the sea – literally – with the enormous Zadar Sea Organ playing in response to the waves.

After a night here, sail on to Rab, Croatia’s famous ‘island of love,’ where artists and Bohemian types have created a distinct flavour that remains today. Perhaps try the legendary Rab cake before you depart for Opatija. It too is a major centre of Croatian culture and entertainment, yet it retains its traditional feel. Cafes here are a serious thing, so don’t miss a coffee, cake, or chocolate cocktail while you’re exploring.

Bid farewell to Croatia with one final onboard dinner before you depart.
