Greece stood at the crossroads of several nations that left their traces here. Considered the cradle of all Western civilization, Greece is the birthplace of democracy, Western philosophy and the Olympic Games.
Start your tour of Greece in the capital, Athens, one of the world’s oldest cities. Spend 3 nights here beginning with a tour of modern Athens which includes Syntagma Square, the University, the National Library, the Presidential Palace, Panathenaic Stadium, the site of the first Olympic Games in 1896, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Houses of Parliament where you will see the Changing of the Guard. After this, head to the iconic landmark, the Acropolis, the ancient citadel which dominates Athens as it sits on a rocky hill. It is crowned by the Parthenon, the temple dedicated to the goddess, Athena. From the top, you will have an awe inspiring view of the city as well as the surrounding coastline. Also visit the Acropolis Museum with its archaeological treasures.
Also, while in Athens, travel to Delphi, the home of the famous oracle of ancient Greece. Delphi lies under the dominating Mount Parnassus. Here visit the Temple of Apollo and other archaeological sites. See the site of the second most important games after the ancient Olympics, the Pythian Games. Also visit the interesting Delphi Museum.
Next take the ferry from the nearby port of Piraeus and sail to the delightful and beautiful island of Mykonos with its charming white houses and narrow streets. It is also the island of choice for the jet set fraternity with its cosmopolitan atmosphere and many beaches, bars and restaurants. Mykonos will be your home for the next 3 nights with 2 full days at leisure to explore the island.
After Mykonos, take a hydrofoil to the island of Santorini, arguably the most spectacular of all the islands. You will spend 2 nights here with a full day to explore the island. You can take a cable car to the top of the island and tower above white cliffs and Santorini’s volcanic crater. You can visit Akrotiri, a city which was once buried in a volcanic eruption. In the evening you can watch the sunset in Oia.
Your journey through the Best of Greece eventually comes to an end when you fly back to Athens.

Your day will begin with breakfast at the hotel, and then around 9:00am you will be picked up from the hotel and depart on a full day tour in Delphi (shared coach tour). At the foot of Mount Parnassos, within the angle formed by the twin rocks of the Phaedriades, lies the Pan-Hellenic sanctuary of Delphi, which had the most famous oracle of ancient Greece. Delphi was regarded as the centre of the world. According to mythology, it is here that the two eagles sent out by Zeus from the ends of the universe to find the navel of the world met. The sanctuary of Delphi, set within a most spectacular landscape, was for many centuries the cultural and religious centre and symbol of unity for the Hellenic world and seat of the Pythian Games, the second most important games in Greece after the Olympics, which were held every four years.
Between the sixth and fourth centuries BC, the Delphic oracle, which was regarded as the most trustworthy, was at its peak. It was delivered by the Pythia, the priestess, and interpreted by the priests of Apollo. Cities, rulers and ordinary individuals alike consulted the oracle, expressing their gratitude with great gifts and spreading its fame around the world. The oracle was thought to have existed since the dawn of time. Indeed, it was believed to have successfully predicted events related to the cataclysm of Deukalion, the Argonaut's expedition and the Trojan War. You will visit the archaeological site and the Museum where one can see among other archeological treasures, the unique bronze statue of the Charioteer dedicated to Apollo by Polyzalos, the tyrant of Gela, in 478 B.C. when he won the chariot-race at the Pythian Games. This incomparable statue is a representative example of the "severe" Attic style, certainly the work of a major artist.
You will return to the hotel in the evening, and then rest of the day is at leisure

Your day begins with breakfast at the hotel. You then have the full day at leisure in Mykonos. After the fifties, Myconos had been established as the place to be among the international jet set. With large crowds, fantastic nightlife, and an eccentricity about her grandeur. Just do not be surprised to find yourself standing next to some famous artist you actually respect. Legendary stars, tycoons, playboys, as well as individuals of an artistic tendency and politicians, have bowed to the "fantasmagical" grandness of the intensity and the craze of the most beautiful island on the planet. The island's cosmopolitan lifestyle took off internationally, literally eaten up by thousands of front pages. An endless parade of the rich and famous, amongst the Queen Soraya, Leopold of Bavaria, Rockefeller, Churchill, Maria Callas, Greta Garbo and Aristotle Onassis.
Your day begins with breakfast at the hotel. You then have the full day at leisure in Mykonos.
Myconos remains one of the prettiest islands of the Cyclades. It is not just the brilliant white of the graphic homes on the backdrop of blue. It is not just the four hundred churches that decorate the remotest corner. It is not just the crystal clear beaches that border the island. It is the worldwide recognized windmills not only decorating the landscape but is a major part of it. It is the little Venice, with its old world manors of captains long gone, with their balconies stretching out over the waves. Never believe that you know everything about Mykonos. Enjoy the sea and the sun, or just stroll around the island and make your own explorations.
Mykonos to Santorini
Your day begins with breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast you will be picked up and transferred from your hotel to the Mykonos Port (timing TBA). From there, you are going to embark on the fast boat (hydrofoil) and travel to Santorini Island.
Santorini is the most active volcanic centre in the Aegean Arc, though what remains today is largely a caldera. The name Santorini was given to it by the Venetians in the 13th century and is a reference to Saint Irene. Before then it was called Kallisti, Strongili or Thera. The island was the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions of the last several thousand years when it erupted cataclysmically about 3,500 years ago. The eruption left a large caldera surrounded by ash deposits hundreds of feet deep, and its effects may have indirectly led to the collapse of the Minoan civilization on the island of Crete, to the south. It has also been said that the sunsets in Santorini are the best in the world. From the Caldera breathtaking views of the volcano and neighbouring islands. From the east miles of dark sandy or pebbled beaches. Everywhere one sees small domed churches and remnants of days gone by. This is Santorini seen through the eyes of people who know and love it.
Upon arrival in Santorini you will be picked up from the port and transferred to your hotel. After checking in and settling into the room, you will have the rest of the day at leisure.

Often referred to as the "crown jewel of Greece", Santorini continues to be one of the most popular destinations in the country, becoming one of the world's top honeymoon spots. Santorini has some of the most unique geographical characteristics of any other island in the world - it was literally formed by a series of catastrophic volcanic explosions over the course of thousands of years. The result is a wonderland of steep cliffs, ebony volcanic rocks and mesmerizing ocean views. If you like beer, why not stop by the Donkey Brewery for a quick tour and delicious sampling of their products. For centuries, the island has been a prominent producer of wine, but with a little entrepreneurial spirit, Donkey Brewery was born.
