This 8-day Italy vacation takes you to Italy’s three most popular cities: Venice, Florence, and Rome.

Your trip to Italy begins in Venice, the city of canals that used to be one of the world capitals of commerce and culture. Get acquainted with this gorgeous medieval city with a private walking tour that takes you off the beaten track to visit the opera house, La Fenice, the stunning Bovolo spiral staircase, and the home of Marco Polo. During the tour, you'll also learn about the unique architecture and construction of Venice's buildings. After the tour, spend your time winding through the narrow streets and explore popular St. Mark's Square and St. Mark's Basilica. Also, be sure to hire a gondola to take you along the canals and head to Rialto Bridge for the best views of the breathtaking Grand Canal.

Continue your Italy vacation to Florence, Italy's treasure trove of art. Florence has long been the country's artistic capital. A tour of the Uffizi Gallery will introduce you to some of the world's artistic masterpieces by Botticelli, da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael, including Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus" and da Vinci's "The Annunciation." After your tour, head to the Academy Gallery to see the world's most famous statue, Michelangelo's "David." Spend the rest of your time in the city taking advantage of the bright flavours of Tuscan cuisine and discovering masterworks around every corner.

Close out your Italy tour in Rome, the nation's capital and the heart of the ancient Roman Empire. It's impossible to be anything but dazzled by all that Rome has to offer. Explore the world of Ancient Rome by visiting the Roman Forum and the Colosseum before following in the footsteps of the Romantic Poets by heading to the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, and the Pantheon. While in Rome, you'll skip the lines and enjoy a private tour of the Vatican City, home to one of the world's greatest art collections. You'll pass through the Raphael Rooms, gaze in wonder upon Michelangelo's frescoes in the Sistine Chapel, and tour St. Peter's Basilica, home to Michelangelo's "La Pieta" and the remains of St. Peter. Close out your time in the city by learning to make pizza at That's Amore Restaurant, knowing that you can now make a little taste of Italy at home.

Consider staying a few more days in Rome to explore all that the city has to offer.
