After boarding the ship in Budapest, you will have an evening cruise around Budapest followed by a folklorique programme.

The next morning get to know Budapest, one of Europe’s most beautiful cities consisting of the old and hilly Buda and the more modern and flat Pest separated by the Danube. Highlights on a tour of the city will be Hero’s Square which took 30 years to build, Castle Hill with views of the magnificent Chain Bridge and Fisherman’s Bastion with its panoramic terrace offering amazing views of the city. (Optional tour today is to Esztergorm, the former residence of Hungarian Kings).

The following morning arrive at Bratislava, capital of the Slovakia Republic. Enjoy a tour of the city including the Castle of Bratislava perched high on top of a hill with great views. (Optional tour today is to the Imperial Festival Palace in Austria owed at one time by the Empress Maria Theresa. Today also offers an optional Vienna by Night tour).

The next port of call is Melk, Austria, famous for its Benedictine Abbey where you will be able to have a wine tasting. Also visit Duernstein, a village known for its wine productivity. The village is charming amid spectacular local scenery. Here have a glass of wine at a local restaurant.

The next day, arrive in Austria’s capital, Vienna. Tour this wonderful Imperial city and marvel at the ornately grand architecture and attractive old buildings. See the impressive Vienna State Opera House, the famous Ringstrasse, the Hofburg Imperial Palace, and the Hundertwasser House, a strange and eccentric but fascinating building designed by the unusual architect, Friedrich Hundertwasser.  Also visit the impressive and magnificent St. Stephan’s Cathedral. (Optional tours today are to Schonbrunn Castle or “Sound of Vienna”).

The following day brings a walking tour of Passau with its picturesque laneways and squares. Visit St. Stephan’s Cathedral where the world’s largest pipe organ is located. Later head to Linz in Austria which was very important during the reign of the Hapsburgs. Take a stroll around the old medieval centre after which enjoy a piece of Linzertorte (cake) at a café, (Today also offers an optional tour to Salzburg or Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic).

Today begin with a tour to Regensburg, one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe. Walk its streets and observe the mansions of wealthy patrician families. Note the beautiful old bridges that span the Danube. From Regensburg, travel by road to Weltenburg, home to the Benedictine Abbey of Weltenburg. Visit Mount Michaelsburg with its classic monument, the Hall of Liberty modelled after the Parthenon in Athens. Walk through a nature reserve and call in at the oldest monastery brewery in Bavaria to sample a dark beer. Later, return to the ship for a “Bavarian Evening” on board.

The Amadeus Silver II is the second 135m vessel in the fleet and will continue the success of its sister vessel as well as implementing both new and familiar concepts: The public areas popular with the passengers, for example the classic 'Café Vienna' and outdoor glass-shielded 'River Terrace', have been incorporated into the planning of the new boat. The cabin design plans are a new and forward-thinking part of the premium focus: the original cabin number of 90 will be reduced to 84 in order to create more space for larger cabins and public areas. In future, the cabin bathrooms will offer more space and special luxury furnishings.
