Explore three of the great cities of Italy before cruising the Adriatic to Croatia and Greece. This European vacation takes you through Rome, Florence, and Venice to see iconic Italian sites before cruising the waters of the Adriatic Sea to showcase historical treasures from Dubrovnik to Athens.

This 15-day Italy and Greek vacation takes you to the most popular Italian cities before cruising the Adriatic from Dubrovnik to Athens.

Your Italy vacation begins in Rome, the nation’s capital and the heart of the ancient Roman Empire. It's impossible to be anything but floored by all that Rome has to offer. A Glory of Ancient Rome morning tour will introduce you to a few of the city's highlights, starting at the Spanish Steps where John Keats spent the last months of his life, to the Trevi Fountain, where a coin thrown into the fountain over your shoulder will assure your return to Rome in the future, to the Pantheon, one of the world's great ancient buildings, and ending at Bernini's Four Rivers Fountain. While in Rome, be sure to delve into the city's ancient past at the Colosseum and the Roman Forum and see some of the world's great artistic treasures at the Vatican City with St. Peter's Basilica and the majesty of the Sistine Chapel. You'll also have the chance to learn how to make fresh pasta with a cooking class at That's Amore Restaurant.

Continue your Italy tour from Rome to Florence, which is Italy's treasure trove of art. Florence is the heart of Tuscany as well as the country's artistic capital. A city tour will take you to the Academy Gallery, where you can gaze upon the world's most famous statue, Michelangelo's "David," and ends in the Square of the Dumo, where you can learn about Giotto's Bell Tower and see the Cathedral. While in Florence, also be sure to visit the Uffizi Gallery, home to Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus," and take advantage of the bright flavours of Tuscan cuisine.

Pass on to Venice, the city of canals that used to be one of the world capitals of commerce and culture. Enjoy a private walking tour through the heart of the city to see St. Mark's Square and Basilica, pass by the Bridge of Sighs, and visit the home of explorer and trader, Marco Polo. While in Venice, also be sure to hire a gondola to take you along the canals and head to Rialto Bridge for the best views of the breathtaking Grand Canal. In Venice, you'll board the Norwegian Star, a state-of-the-art cruise ship that has 15 restaurants, 11 bars and lounges, and a spa and on-board casino to keep you occupied as you cruise the Adriatic Sea.

First stop on your Adriatic cruise is Dubrovnik, one of the world's best-preserved medieval cities. While Dubrovnik is likely most famous for its role as King's Landing on Game of Thrones, it has a long pedigree of gorgeous architecture and sunny weather. Walk along the 500-year-old city walls that encircle the town before deep-diving into the lively café culture that makes Dubrovnik so charming. The next day, sail to Montenegro and visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kotor, a labyrinthine medieval city with high city walls and the Cathedral of St. Tryphon, which dates back to the 8th century.

Continue your cruise into Greek waters, heading to Katakolon, where you'll access the world of Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of Greek mythology. Tour these ruins from antiquity and get greater insight into the world of Ancient Greece. Then pass on to Athens, the Greek capital and one of the world's major historical centres. You'll have a day to explore some of the most popular sites, focusing on the Acropolis, which is home to the Temple of Athena Nike and the iconic Parthenon. If you have time, also visit the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first Olympics were held in 1896, and swing by Gazi to get a taste of the city's incredible food culture and nightlife.

The final stop on your Adriatic cruise is Split, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most gorgeous cities in Croatia. Explore the city and its Roman heritage, culminating in the stunning Diocletian's Palace. You'll then return to Venice to close out your Italy vacation.
