Each night, return to the train for fine dining and pampering accommodations.
This 9-day Irish vacation whisks you across the Emerald Isle aboard the luxurious Belmond Grand Hibernian. With gorgeous accommodations and classical style, this train journey is a pampering showcase of the most popular cities in Ireland, including Dublin, Cork, Killarney, and Galway. It’s perfect for upscale travellers wanting to experience the best of Ireland.
Your rail journey across Ireland begins in the capital, Dublin, which is one of the friendliest cities you’re likely to visit in your travels. In the past, Dublin was considered the loveliest city in Europe and while its stately Georgian architecture has begun to show its age, the city hasn’t lost any of its charm. Staying in a 5-star hotel, you’ll have a full day to explore the city’s many wonders. Take advantage of the Dublin Pass to travel across the city aboard the hop-on hop-off bus service and gain fast track entry to some of the most popular attractions, including St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Trinity College Library, and the Guinness Storehouse, where you can learn about the world’s most famous stout and enjoy a pint while you’re at it.
In Dublin, you’ll board the Belmond Grand Hibernian, your luxury home for the next four nights. Catering to a maximum of 40 guests, the Belmond Grand Hibernian has private en-suite cabins with luxurious amenities and gorgeous railcars that combine tradition with cutting-edge technology. While aboard, you’ll dine on gourmet cuisine in one of two dining cars and gaze out upon the green landscape of Ireland. The first stop on your journey is Cork, where you’ll enjoy an afternoon Irish tea, before arriving in Midlton to tour the Jameson Experience and enjoy a dram of the famous whisky. Another day, you’ll see Blarney Castle and have a chance to kiss the Blarney Stone and get the gift of the gab, ride a jaunting car through Killarney National Park, and take a boat trip around the islands of Lough Leane.
Turn north and pass the striking Cliffs of Moher before reaching Galway, a harbour city on Ireland’s west coast. Enjoy a walking tour of the city centre and spot historical landmarks like the 14th-century St. Nicholas’ Collegiate Church and the pubs and shops of 18th-century Eyre Square. Reach Westport and head for a scenic drive to Ashford Castle, where you can watch a falconry display and explore the castle grounds. You’ll then return to Dublin where you’ll have one more day to explore the city and enjoy its one-of-a-kind culture of music, food, and fellowship.
At the end of your stay, head to the airport to connect back home.
