This 8-day French vacation takes travellers to Paris and Bordeaux to sample local wines and delicacies. It includes first-class accommodations, small group tours, and is perfect for foodies. 

Your journey begins in Paris, the City of Light and one of the most beloved spots on the planet. In Paris, you’ll delve into the famous French food culture with a small group culinary tour. Start at a bakery where you’ll enjoy croissants and coffee. Continue to the food market, Les Halles, where you can try artisanal cheese and chocolates, visit one of the oldest patisseries in Paris, and end the tour at a wine bar where you’ll enjoy a wine tasting. The next day, head to the Cour Napoleon in the Louvre and enjoy breakfast with great views over the iconic glass pyramid. After breakfast, skip the line and tour the museum, including stops at some of the top artistic masterworks, including the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo. 

From Paris, ride the train to Bordeaux and explore this famous wine region. Spend a full day touring the subregions of Saint Emilion and Medoc, two of the most important wine producing areas. In Saint Emilion, you’ll stroll through the old streets, visit chateaux, and enjoy a wine tasting at a cellar. Connect back to Bordeaux for lunch and a glass of wine at Bordovino’s Apartment before continuing along the Chateau Route of Medoc to tour vineyards and wine rooms and see one of the most prestigious chateaux in all of Bordeaux. Another afternoon you’ll enjoy a cheese and wine tasting at Bordeaux’s underground vaulted “100 cheese cellar,” trying nine different types of regional cheeses and as well as three wines. Cap off your culinary journey with a trip to the Bay of Arcachon, where you’ll climb the Dune du Pilat, the highest sand dune in Europe, stroll through the inland forest, and enjoy an oyster tasting at the famous oyster harvesting region. 

At the end of your stay, you’ll connect back to the train station to continue to your onward destination.

Day 2

Small Group Gourmet Food Tour plus Lunch

Join a small group excursion with a professional tour guide and indulge in a 'Tour de France' French regional gastronomy! Your journey begins in a typical French-style bakery where you will enjoy a coffee, delicious butter croissants, and pick up some traditional baguettes to enjoy later. Next stop is Les Halles, home to the huge food market and known as a mecca for food lovers. The streets are lined with specialty food stores, restaurants, cafes, and kitchen supplies. Shop amongst the locals on the popular rue Montorgueil, stopping along the way to savor some local treats like artisanal cheeses and fine chocolates direct from the 'fromagerie' and 'chocolatier'. You will also have the opportunity to visit one of the oldest and most beautiful patisseries in Paris, famous for winning the award for the Best Chocolate Eclair! The last stop will be a beautifully restored epicerie. Along the way, your expert guide will ensure to share stories from centuries-old traditions. Finally, stop at a wine bar and with the help of an expert sommelier, sample various wines from different regions in France and how to pair each wine with your food.

Must-See Louvre + French Breakfast

Start your small group tour in a relaxed way with a typical French breakfast in a magnificent and chic cafe terrace, located inside the Cour Napoleon of the Louvre. Enjoy the sublime views over the iconic glass pyramid as the museum opens for the day as you savor typical French viennoiseries with fresh fruit salad, freshly squeezed orange juice with coffee or tea. After breakfast, you will skip the lines and take a journey through the famous Louvre museum, visiting the the 'Top 10' must-see works of art in the Louvre and more! Some highlights will include the mysterious Mona Lisa, the exquisite Venus de Milo, the spectacular Winged Victory and many other of the most famous masterpieces in the world. Travel back in time and explore the Italian Renaissance, discover ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, and the great French paintings of the 19th century. The visit inside the musuem will take approximately 1.5 hour tour and is specially designed to ensure that you cover all the must-see masterpieces in the Louvre, as well as showing you other fascinating artworks along the way. Day 5

Full day tour to Medoc and Saint Emilion, with lunch

Join a small group tour from Bordeaux to the famous wine regions of Medoc and Saint Emilion. First stop is Medoc, a beautiful region known for its Classified wine productions. Wander through the vineyards, see the wine vat rooms and cellars, learn about the wine making process, then finish the tour by a tasting of the estate's wines. Continue your visit of Medoc to another wine estate where you will meet the the people from a charming family run estate. Visit the property and learn about the different wine varieties of the Bordeaux region and finish with a tasting of the estate's wines accompanied with French delicacies and snacks. In the afternoon, enjoy a picnic lunch at a Classified Growth estate in Saint Emilion. After lunch, visit the property including a tasting the estate's wines. By the end of the day, you will become an expert in Bordeaux wine! Finally, the day would not be complete without visiting the famous medieval village of St Emilion, UNESCO classified.

Bordeaux Cheese and Wine tasting (Afternoon)

Enjoy the best of France while in Bordeaux on this small group cheese and wine tasting session. Meet in one of Bordeaux's most unique locations and discover the underground vaulted "100 cheese cellar". In a fun & informative atmosphere, you will savor 9 AOC cheeses from all over France that will be complemented by three regional wines of Bordeaux. Learn about the magic of pairing food and wine and experience a wide range of flavors and aromas.

Day 7

Bay of Arcachon with Oyster tasting

The Bay of Arcachon is a beautiful bay located only 1 hour away from the center of Bordeaux. Arcachon is a bay of 1500 hectares fed by the Atlantic Ocean forming an inland sea with the colors of a lagoon, bordered on one side by a blond fine sand dune culminating at 110 meters at the Dune du Pilat, Europe's highest sand dune. From its summit, you can also admire the beautiful Landes' forest. On this small-group excursion, you will explore this oyster-harvesting area on the southern side of France. Climb the Pyla's sand dune and enjoy there the amazing views of the ocean, the bay, and the forest. Be brave enough to walk down the dune and put one foot in the water. The bay of Arcachon is also home to the traditional culture of oysters! Enjoy an oyster's tasting at a local producer with a glass of white wine.
