Escape to Ireland with Air

Duration
8 Days
Prices From:
US$ 1,471

Escape to Ireland to experience the country’s charming culture and lovely cities and towns. As you travel from Dublin to Killarney and Blarney, you’ll explore Ireland’s natural and historical landmarks, savour its beer and music, and witness firsthand the island’s famous welcoming spirit.

This 8-day Ireland vacation takes you from the capital, Dublin, to charming and popular vacation spots like Killarney and Blarney. International airfare is included in the price of this getaway.

Your Ireland vacation begins in Dublin, the Irish capital and one of the friendliest cities you’re ever likely to visit. When Ireland was a part of the British Empire, Dublin served as its second capital and was bandied about as the loveliest city in Europe during the 18th century. Today, Ireland determines its own destiny and the gorgeous Georgian architecture show its age, but that doesn’t mean the city has lost any of its charm. Quite the opposite actually. From the friendly locals that populate every pub to the foreigners who flock to the city to take advantage of its globalized culture, you’ll find a friendly face wherever you go in Dublin. Use your time in Dublin to head to a few popular tourist spots, like Trinity College Library, which houses the incredible Book of Kells, a 9th century illuminated manuscript of the Gospels, or the Guinness Factory, where you’ll learn about the history of Ireland’s most famous beer and try some of it for yourself. Of course, to take the city’s pulse, head to a local pub to enjoy a pint amidst new friends.

From Dublin, continue your Ireland vacation by heading to Galway City, passing through the farmlands and peat bogs of County Kildare and Offaly, with a stop at Locke’s Distillery to enjoy a dram of whisky along the way. Galway City is a lively student town with a robust arts scene. It also used to be a fortified town in the Middle Ages. You can still see some of the preserved walls throughout the city, but the energetic mixture of live music, good food, and great drinks is what makes Galway City so invigorating. From Galway City, head to Burren to see the limestone pavements and barren hillsides that make this area look like it belongs on the moon. A stop off at the Cliffs of Moher will offer up some great walking trails for an afternoon break, while the early Irish settlements give a taste of what the country looked like in the distant past.

Next stop is Killarney, the lively tourist centre that has attracted visitors for over 250 years. Located in the midst of a landscape of lakes, waterfalls, and woodlands, as well as 1000-metre peaks that encircle the area, Killarney is about as picturesque as cities come. Spend your time enjoying the excellent restaurants and pubs before continuing on to the Dingle Peninsula to see a mixture of old forts, religious monuments and fishing villages. Continue your getaway by heading to the Ring of Kerry, a landmark route traversing Ireland’s highest mountain. Close out your Ireland vacation in Blarney, home of Blarney Castle and the Blarney Stone (be sure to kiss it!) before heading back to Dublin to return home.

This Ireland vacation is an escape from the workaday rhythms of the world, offering an enchanting glimpse of the country’s quaint beauty and charming culture.
