We’re back in France again, this time on the Mediterranean’s Cote d’Azure. Stop in the resort of Eze for 2 nights, famous for the view of the sea from its hill top. Next day, first stop is a perfume factory for a tour and visit. Then heading east, arrive at the principality of Monaco and the resort of Monte Carlo, the second smallest country and yet, the world’s second most densely populated country. It is known for its casino, its yacht-lined harbour and its prestigious Grand Prix motor race which once a year runs through Monaco’s streets. Have a tour of Monte Carlo perhaps a fling at the Casino before returning to Eze.

Over the border next into Italy and Florence known for its art collections and its beautiful churches and museums. Florence, your home for the next 2 nights, is famous for its history and was one of the wealthiest cities in its time. En route, stop in Pisa, the home of the famous Leaning Tower. An in-depth tour of Florence the next morning will acquaint you with the River Arno, the Ponte Vecchio and the Cathedral, commonly known as the Duomo. Included is a visit to a leatherworks.

Heading south, travel to the hill town of Orvieto in Umbria, one of Italy’s important wine regions. Afterwards, finish up in the Eternal City, Rome for a 2 night stay, the Italian capital which boasts an unparalleled concentration of world class art and teems with restaurants, trattorias, pizzerias, cafés, bars, and ice cream parlours. Plunge right in with a tour that will include the Pantheon, Colosseum, the Spanish Steps and the famous Trevi Fountain. The next day is free so consider a visit to the Vatican City taking in the Basilica of St. Peter and Michelangelo’s amazing frescoes in the Sistine Chapel Then there is also the ancient Forum and the beautiful Piazza Navona to consider.

Travel north to Venice with a stop in Verona en route in Italy’s Veneto region famous for being the setting of Shakespeare’s "Romeo and Juliet" and its grand Arena, a 1st Century Roman amphitheater still hosting concerts and an annual opera festival. Enjoy a walking tour here. Venice is one of Italy's most beautiful and romantic cities with small, traffic-free streets mingled with the winding canals, magnificent churches and palaces, lively squares, and interesting shops. It is made up of 118 small islands connected by more than 400 bridges over its 150 canals. The Grand Canal is like a main street cutting through the centre of the city. The best way to get to know Venice is on a walking tour including visits to St. Mark’s Square, the Accademia Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs. A must is of course a vaporetto ride on the Grand Canal. Maybe take in a gondola ride on your own while here.

Leaving Italy, arrive in Austria and stay in a resort in the Austrian Alps for 2 nights benefiting from not only the fresh air but the spectacular scenery.

The next stop is the Czech Republic and the city of Prague. En route, have a stop at the former Mathausen Concentration Camp. On arrival in Prague, a magical city of bridges, cathedrals, gold-tipped towers and church domes, have a walking tour which will include the imposing Hradcany Castle, the attractive Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square.

You will have a free day to explore Prague further including its medieval centre which remains a wonderful mixture of cobbled lanes, walled courtyards, cathedrals and countless church spires.
Next stop is Dresden, where you will have a walking tour of this city rebuilt to its former glory. Then continue to Berlin known for its arts scene, nightlife and modern architecture. On arrival, you will have an orientation tour which will include the Berlin Wall, Check Point Charlie, the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag building. The following day is free to explore this vibrant city on your own – there is no lack of choice.

Next head to the charming city of Amsterdam sometimes known as the “Venice of the North” because of its many beautiful canals that criss-cross the city, its impressive architecture and its more than 1,500 bridges. En route, stop at a Dutch cheese farm for a demonstration of how cheese is made. This will be followed by a walking tour of Amsterdam which will include the Royal Palace and Dam Square. The next day is special as you will start with a bike tour (what better way to join in with the locals). In the evening, enjoy a canal cruise including dinner for a different way of viewing the city.

Your final day brings you to the lovely city of Bruges with its immense character and a network of attractive canals. Have a walking tour here taking in the cobblestone streets and quaint bridges.
