This 6-day trip through the Faroe Islands includes all local transportation and accommodation, along with excursions and entrance fees to help you uncover the best of this unique archipelago.

Begin on Vagar Island with a guided tour, before transferring to Torshavn for your first night. You’ll go on from here to Vestmanna, your base for the next two nights, offering some great sightseeing, history, and bird-watching. You’ll board a boat tour, bound for the Vestmanna bird cliffs. You can also visit the saga museum to get a feel for the Faroes’ Viking heritage. Local villages and delicious meals round out the day. The following day, visit the mountainous islands of Bordoy and Dunoy and take in the awesome natural landscape.

Pass the Faroes’ highest peak as you weave your way back to Torshavn. Along the way, you’ll visit the towns of Tjornuvik and Saksun, and see the old whaling station that once powered much of the Faroes’ economy. On your last full day here, explore Torshavn itself. The town is home to one of the world’s oldest parliaments, along with Fort Skansin, historic Kirkjubour, and 900 year-old Roykstovan. You’ll have free time to explore, and choose your own spot for dinner. In the morning, visit Bosdalafossur waterfall before transferring to the airport.

Day 1

Arrival

On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Torshavn. After checking in, there is a quick orientation meeting before you head out with your personal guide for a tour of Vagar Island. Dinner is at the hotel.

Day 2

Vestmanna

After breakfast, you will head to Vestmanna. The tour goes from Vagar through Faroe Islands’ first subsea tunnel. From Vestmanna, you will board a boat tour to the magnificent Vestmanna birdcliffs. Afterwards you can visit the saga museum where you will get a great overview of the islands viking history. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. The tour continues through Streymoy to Eysturoy and onto the charming village of Gjogv. Dinner will be served at Hotel Gjaargardur, where you also will be staying for the next two nights.

Day 3

Bordoy and Kunoy

Your day begins on the northern islands of Bordoy and Kunoy, known for their high mountains amongst other things. Here you can find big towns, by Faroe Island standards at least, including Klaksvik, the second largest city of the Islands, as well as tiny little traditional villages. After a full day sightseeing tour around Bordoy or Kunoy you head back to Gjogv. Dinner at Hotel Gjaargardur.

Day 4

Eysturoy and Streymoy

You will leave Gjogv and drive towards Eidi where you will pass the highest mountain on the Faroe Islands, Slaettaratindur (880m) and from Eidi cross over the Atlantic brigde to Tjornuvík and later to Saksun. You will also pass the old whaling station at Air. This day’s journey ends in the capital Torshavn.

Day 5

Torshavn and Kirkjubour

After breakfast, you will spend the morning discovering Torshavn, where you gain a great overview over the city, its history and its architecture. Visit the old town Reyni, the world's oldest parliament Tinganes and the fort Skansin. The tour continues to the historical village Kirkjubour - the old cultural centre of the Faroe Islands. Visit the roughly 900-year-old Roykstovan, where the King's yeoman still lives after 17 generations; Olav's church from AD 1111, named after King Olav the Holy. This church is the oldest church in the Faroe Islands, and is still in use. See the ruins of St. Magnus Cathedral, which is regarded as one of the largest cultural attractions in the Faroe Islands. After lunch, the remainder of the day is free to explore. Dinner is on your own tonight.

Day 6

Departure

Today, you travel to Vagar and take a boat trip on the "Lakeside", a most special and exciting vessel traversing the waters of the islands and to the waterfall Bosdalafossur. After lunch, you are transferred to the airport.
