Your trip to Germany begins in Berlin, the nation’s capital and the king of cool in Europe. Berlin has historical treasures to outmatch most cities, but it’s also one of the most vibrant capital cities on the planet. Then continue to Schlosskirche to see his tomb before visiting St. Mary’s Church, where Luther used to preach. Continue along the Elbe River and reach Torgau, where you’ll visit Hartenfels Palace and chapel, where Luther consecrated his first Reformation Church. Visit the grave of Luther’s wife, Katharina von Bora, before heading to Leipzig to tour the Thomaskirche, where composer J.S. Bach is buried, and St. Nicholas Church, which was central to the anti-Communist demonstrations in 1989.

Continue your German vacation in Eisleben, the hometown of Martin Luther. Visit the house where Luther was born and died as well as the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, where Luther was baptized. You’ll also see the Church of St. Andrews, where Luther gave his first sermon. Head on to Erfurt, the city where Luther became a monk and his monastic community, the Augustine Monastery. Spend some time sightseeing through the city centre, visiting the Cathedral of St. Mary, where Luther was ordained, and continue to your final destination, Eisenbach, where you’ll explore Wartburg Castle, where Luther translated the New Testament into German.

Once you reach Frankfurt, head to the airport or train station to continue your onward journey.
