Travel in a small group to the classic northern cities of Italy. From Milan, see the famous northern cities including Bologna, Venice and Verona before arriving in the Tuscan countryside. Enjoy unique experiences such as a boat trip on Lake Garda! Travel in comfort and enjoy most meals, daily excursions and visits.

This 8-day Italian vacation takes you from Milan to Venice and Florence, stopping in Verona, Bologna, and Siena along the way. It features first-class accommodations, small group tours, and is a great add-on to a stay in Rome.

Your trip to Italy begins in Milan, the centre of fashion in Northern Italy, where you’ll head on a panoramic tour to see a few of the city’s historical treasures, including the Piazza del Duomo that is home to the Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and the 18th-century Teatro alla Scala. In the afternoon, head on an excursion to Como, the lovely medieval town sitting on the picturesque lake of the same name. Spend the night back in Milan and then continue on to the popular tourist town of Sirmione, sitting on Garda Lake. Ride a boat out to some of the most famous sights in town, including Roman ruins and the ancient fortress of Scaligero Castle. Next stop is Verona, the medieval city that was the famous setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, where you’ll have some time to explore at leisure.

Continue on to Venice, where you’ll spend a couple nights in Mestre, a commune located on the mainland just across from Venice’s islands. During your day in Venice, you’ll get a taste for this magical city. Start in the Piazza San Marco, where you’ll see the Bridge of Sighs and St. Mark’s Cathedral. Then take an excursion to Murano to visit a glassworks factory and learn about this craft that is central to Venice’s history. It’s then back to St. Mark’s Square where your tour ends, leaving you with some free time to enjoy a gelato, people watch, or head on a gondola tour along the canals.

From Venice, head to Bologna, the largest city in the Emilia-Romagna region, where you’ll see Piazza Maggiore and the Asinelli and Garisenda Towers. That afternoon, continue on to Florence, the capital of Tuscany and one of Italy’s centres for culture and the arts. Enjoy a guided tour of the old town that’ll showcase the Piazza del Duomo, Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, and the Piazza della Signoria. You’ll have another day in Florence to explore at your leisure. Indulge your love of art with visits to the dell'Accademia to see Michelangelo’s “David” and the Uffizi Gallery to see Boticelli’s “The Birth of Venus.”

On the final day of your Italian vacation, head from Florence to San Gimignano, where you’ll have some free time to explore the medieval walled city. Continue on to Siena, where you’ll head on a guided tour, before ending your trip in Rome.
