FIRST-CLASS | TAILOR-MADE: Discover a city of art and culture, imposing medieval walls, Gothic architecture, and the historic Palais des Papes. Enjoy a small group walking tour, including skip-the-line access to the palace. You’ll also discover Orange and Chateauneuf du Pape and wine tasting in this world-renowned wine region.

This 4-day French vacation takes you to the medieval city of Avignon. It features first-class accommodations, small group tours, and is an ideal add-on to a longer journey through France.

Your trip to France showcases Avignon, the medieval city that was home to the popes during the 14th century. Staying in a first-class hotel in the city’s core, you’ll spend a few days exploring the city and its surroundings, learning about the fascinating medieval history and enjoying the exceptional food and wine scene. One day, a small group tour will showcase a few of the city’s most famous landmarks, not least of which is the Palais des Papes, the massive Gothic fortress-turned-palace that’s one of Europe’s most beautiful works of architecture and was home to the Pope for around 70 years in the 14th century. You’ll skip the line at the palace and explore its maze of corridors, galleries, and chapels. Another day, head into the countryside to tour the medieval town of Orange and see its collection of Roman monuments like the Triumphal Arch and the theatre. Cap off the day with a trip to Chateauneuf du Pape, where you’ll stroll through vineyards and sample some Cotes du Rhone wine.

At the end of your stay, connect to the airport or train station to continue your onward journey.
