Staying in a first-class accommodation, you’ll have a few days to explore the city as well as visit the Smithwick’s Brewery to learn about the famous Irish ale and try some for yourself.

This 3-day Irish vacation highlights the southeastern town of Kilkenny. It includes first-class accommodations, pairs well with other city breaks in Ireland, and is perfect for first-time visitors to the country.

Kilkenny is a gorgeous medieval town known for its many churches, its black limestone architecture, and the famous ales that flow from its pubs and breweries. Staying in a first-class accommodation in the heart of the old city centre, you’ll have a couple days to experience the city’s highlights. Visit the famous historical sites like Kilkenny Castle, first built by the Normans in 1195, as well as St. Canice’s Cathedral and the Black Abbey Dominican priory. Also, be sure to explore a bit of the town’s many galleries and museums, including the Rothe House, a 17th-century merchant townhouse that’s the only building of its kind left in Ireland. While in Kilkenny, you’ll also immerse yourself in the story of the famous Irish ale, Smithwick’s. Visit the brewery and learn about the ale’s 300 years of history before trying some of the ale for yourself.

At the end of your stay, head to the train station to continue your onward journey.
