Discover Venetian culture, enjoy unique experiences, and stay in first-class accommodations on this trip to Venice. This program includes a guided walking tour to landmarks off the beaten track, a visit to three local wine bars, cicchetti (tapas) tastings, and a lesson in the art of Venetian rowing from a local gondolier.

This 4-day Italy vacation takes you to Venice to see its most popular sites.

Your trip to Italy showcases Venice, the gorgeous city of canals that used to be a world capital of commerce and culture. Built on a lagoon of 117 islands in the Adriatic Sea, Venice remains one of Europe’s most-cherished destinations. Get acquainted with this gorgeous medieval city with a private walking tour that takes you off the beaten track to visit the opera house, La Fenice, the stunning Bovolo spiral staircase, and the home of Marco Polo. During the tour, you’ll also learn about the unique architecture and construction of Venice’s buildings. Later that day, jump between wine bars or bacaros in the Rialto neighbourhood, tasting Venetian vintages as you munch on cicchetti (tapas). The next day, experience the city as a gondolier does by getting on the water and learning to row a gondola like a real Venetian. Spend the rest of your time winding through the narrow streets and exploring popular sites like St. Mark’s Square and St. Mark’s Basilica.

This trip to Venice makes a great addition to a longer Italian vacation.

Venetian Style Traditional Pub Crawling

This afternoon excursion is a relaxed walk in the Rialto area, with information about Venice day by day life, traditions, food and market shopping. In Venice, more than 50,000 'ombre' (glasses of wine) are drunk each day. The 'bacaro' (wine bar) is a favourite meeting place for all Venetians and to drink an 'ombra' together is a social ritual, a declaration of friendship and solidarity renewed day after day, hour after hour. If you are not from Venice, then a visit to our 'bacari' could be a real key to understanding the different dimension of a city where being in a hurry is unheard of, where the rhythms are those of the sing-song cadence of the Venetian dialect, and of the steps which slowly echo down the secret, hidden lanes. Like Spanish tapas, Chicchetti are eaten at any time of the day. Accompanied without exception by an 'ombra', the cicchetto, which varies seasonally and from place to place, consists of a bite of fish or cured meat on a bed of polenta or bread and can be served cold or hot. At the end, this tour with drinks and snacks can easily be a good substitute to a dinner!
