Prices From:
US$ 1,450

Sail from Athens and discover the captivating Greek Islands including sophisticated Mykonos, the resort of Kusadasi in Turkey (visit Ancient Byzantine Ephesus from here), mountainous verdant Patmos, quaint Rhodes, Heraklion in Crete and enchanting volcanic Santorini.

Please see LEFT BAR for ship details and other cruise information.

The Greek Islands are an integral part of the country’s culture and tradition. There are around 6,000 islands of which 227 are inhabited. This cruise visits some of the most popular and attractive islands in the Aegean Sea.

Sailing from Athens, your first port of call is the delightful and beautiful island of Mykonos with its charming white houses and narrow streets. Spend the evening here. Mykonos is justly famous for its nightlife.

The next day arrive at the Turkish resort of Kusadasi with its colourful harbour and vibrant covered bazaar. From here, you can take an excursion to the famous Byzantine archaeological site of Ephesus, the most famous of its kind in the Aegean. Later, sail on to the island of Patmos with its two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Grotto and Monastery of St. John.

Arrive the following morning at the island of Rhodes. You have a full free day here to explore this impressive island with its old walled town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Wander through Rhodes’ many interesting sights and take time to visit one of the several attractive beaches.

Next is the island of Crete calling in at the capital, Heraklion on Greece’s largest island, Crete where the outstanding architecture ranges from Byzantine to Ottoman.  Here you have the opportunity to travel to Knossos considered Europe’s oldest city and home originally to the Minoan civilization. Amazingly enough, Knossos was only discovered in 1900. It was also home to the Minotaur, the half man-half animal mythological being. Later arrive in Santorini, arguably the most spectacular of all the islands.  Take a cable car to the top of the island and tower above white cliffs and Santorini’s volcanic crater. An optional tour will take you to Akrotiri, a city which was once buried in a volcanic eruption. In the evening watch the sunset in Oia.

Sail back to Athens and disembark after your enchanting cruise through the iconic Greek Islands in the Aegean Sea.

Day 2

Kusadasi and Patmos

From Mykonos you have sailed overnight to arrive for breakfast in quiet Kusadasi, who's white sand beaches and incomparable shopping are a stone's throw from the legendary excavation of Ancient Ephesus and the Terrace Houses, one of the largest and most complete ancient cities in the world, the House of the Virgin Mary, beautiful Sirince Village and the thrilling metropolis of Izmir. Kusadasi is also home to a fantastic covered bazaar, where you can shop with a view of the town's picturesque harbor.

Later today, around 4:00pm, you will arrive at the blessed island of Patmos, a verdant, mountainous paradise considered one of the world's loveliest destinations. Many believe John the Apostle wrote the Book of Revelations in a mountainside grotto on Patmos where he heard the voice of God. At the top of the mountain, within the white walls of Hora, the monastery founded in his honor in 1088 stands guard above this holy island.

Rhodes

You will leave Patmos and sail for magnificent Rhodes, where we have a full day to explore yet another incomparable island. The Palace of the Grand Masters, in the old walled city of Rhodes, a UNESCO World Heritage site, will make you think you've stepped back in time, as will the ancient Acropolis of Lindos, high above the sea, and the Citadel of the Knights. Try some delicious local wines and relax at charming Tsampika Beach, or just stroll the old city and enjoy an al fresco lunch and a traditional Greek coffee, strong enough to fortify you for an afternoon wandering through the past.

Day 4

Crete and Santorini

From Rhodes you have sailed overnight to Heraklion, an ancient Venetian port and the capital of Crete. Greece's largest island will greet you like family. It's a wonderland of secluded beaches, hiking trails, rivers and archeological marvels, including the Minoan Palace of Knossos, the first civilization in Europe, and the Archeological Museum in Heraklion. However you decide to spend your morning in Crete, you'll fall in love. And don't leave the island without a bottle of Cretan olive oil, the world's finest.

Enjoy a delicious lunch on the pool deck or a traditional Greek coffee at Thalassa Bar, on Deck 10, the bright blue surface of the Aegean glittering beneath you, as you sail from Heraklion for an evening in breathtaking Santorini. Its massive cliffs rise from the blue waters of the Aegean like a dream. Take a jeep safari into the interior or a cruise to Santorini's smaller islands and volcanoes, visit the Akrotiri Village excavations, or just sit in a café in spectacular Oia Village and watch the sunset from 300 meters above the azure sea. This is what it's like to visit the sky.
