Italian Landscapes: Venice to Rome

Duration
7 Days
Prices From:
US$ 1,637

Travel in a small group to the classic cities of Italy. Starting in Venice, enjoy unique experiences such as balsamic vinegar tastings and guided tours in famous Tuscan cities. Travel in comfort and enjoy most meals, daily excursions and visits.

This 7-day Italian vacation showcases some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country on this journey through Bologna, Cinque Terre, and Florence. It features first-class accommodations, small group tours, and is a great add-on to a stay in Venice or Rome (or both!).

Your journey through Italy begins in Venice, where you’ll join your tour group and head to Bologna. Spend a few hours in the largest city in the Emilia-Romagna region and see Piazza Maggiore and the Asinelli and Garisenda Towers. Afterwards, continue on to Modena for a balsamic vinegar tasting, before ending the day in the lovely port city of La Spezia, which will be your base for the next two nights. In La Spezia, board a boat and explore the pastel, cliff-side villages of Cinque Terre along the coastline. You’ll visit Porto Venere, Vernazza, and Monterosso, the largest of the villages of the Cinque Terre. Explore the cobblestoned old town and enjoy the views before returning to La Spezia.

Next stop is Pisa, home to the famous Leaning Tower. After visiting this lopsided marvel, continue on to Florence, the capital of Tuscany and one of Italy’s centres for art and culture. Enjoy a guided tour of the old town, which takes you to the Piazza del Duomo, Santa Maria del Fiore Catherdal, and the Piazza della Signoria. You’ll have another full day in Florence to explore at your leisure. Indulge your love of art with visits to the dell’Accademia to see Michelangelo’s “David” and the Uffizi Gallery to see Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus.”

On the final leg of your journey, head from Florence to San Gimignano, where you’ll have some free time to explore this medieval walled town. Continue on to Siena, where you’ll head on a guided tour of the town to see a few of its landmarks, including the fan-shaped Piazza del Campo. End your tour in Rome.
