Kent Castles, Gardens, Coastline UK Small Group: London to London

Duration
4 Days
Prices From:
US$ 782

Take a stroll through the “Garden of England.” See the sites in iconic London before walking the idyllic pastures of Kent and gazing over the English Channel at the White Cliffs of Dover.

This small group experience (maximum 16 participants) gets you off the beaten track so you get a real feel for the country. Our guides are hand-picked for their pride and passion for their country. Transportation is in modern Mercedes Benz mini-coaches and accommodation is in 3 star country hotels.

This 4-day tour takes you through the gardens of Kent after getting a taste of London’s global appeal.

You begin in one of the most visited cities on the planet, London, England. With a history hearkening back to Roman times, London boasts some of the finest architecture, galleries, cuisine, and culture to be found anywhere on Earth. See the iconic sites of the Tower of London, Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace. Visit the British Museum to gaze upon Egyptian mummies and learn from one of the world’s foremost anthropological institutions. At Westminster Abbey, see the resting place of past kings and queens of England, as well as famous artists and scientists like Geoffrey Chaucer and Sir Isaac Newton. Also be sure to have some famous fish and chips and a pint at a local pub. London is a city you’ll want to spend more than a night in, so plan extra days to accommodate all that the city has to offer.

After getting a taste of London, head to the pastoral landscape of Kent. Visit Leeds Castle and see if the “Loveliest Castle in the World” lives up to its reputation. The castle has been around in one form or another for 900 years and its grounds include dozens of parks and gardens. In Canterbury, visit the most important church in all of England, Canterbury Cathedral. Offer your respects at the tomb of St. Thomas à Becket, which has drawn millions of pilgrims over the past centuries.

The region of Kent offers up all manner of charming garden and imposing castle. The White Cliffs of Dover offer a stunning view of the stormy English Channel. You can see the coast of France from the cliffs on a clear day. In Walmer and Deal, walk on soil where Julius Caesar first landed in England over 2000 years ago. Wind through the medieval streets of Rye and sample English wine and ciders at the vineyards of Biddenden. This brief trip will charm you with the pastoral whiles of English life and fill you with the desire to return in the near future.
