Located in Terreiro do Paco - Praça do Comercio, a historic part of the city of Lisbon, is now born a new lodging in Praca do Comercio. Historic place of unique importance, this was the place where for centuries ships with goods disembarked. Totally destroyed after the 1755 earthquake, it was Marques de Pombal the one who gave the order to rebuild almost the entire Lisbon. This is one of the most emblematic places of the city and there are several exit points from here that allow you to visit the rest of Lisbon, walk alongside the Tejo or even cross the river bank. If Lisbon was born at the castle, it was from the Terreiro do Paco (Palace Square) that it expanded. Augusta Street is the main artery that connects the Commerce Square to the beautiful Rossio Square.

Day 2

Classic Lisbon

Discover the magnificent city of Lisbon. The history and traditions of the city will be unveiled to you as you discover the various sights. First stop is the Monument to the Discoveries. This monument was built in honor of Henry the Navigator, who was instrumental in the success of the Portuguese explorations during the fifteenth century, a period now known as the Age of Discoveries. Next is the Tower of Belem, which was built in 1515 as a fortress to guard the entrance to Lisbon's harbor. The Belem Tower was the starting point for many of the voyages of discovery, and for the sailors it was the last sight of their homeland. You will then continue on and see Jeronimos' Monastery, which is one of the great triumphs of European Gothic (UNESCO has classified it a World Heritage monument), with much of the design characterized by elaborate sculptural details and maritime motifs. Your tour would not be complete without a visit to the Coaches Museum. One of Lisbon's most visited sights, the Coaches Museum (Museu Nacional dos Coches) has the largest and most valuable collection of its type in the world. It is housed in a richly decorated 18th century royal riding school that is part of Belem Palace, illustrating the ostentation and staggering wealth of the old Portuguese elite. To have a full Lisbon experience, you will also be treated to a Port Wine tasting.

Duration4 Hours

Obidos, Batalha, Alcobaca, Nazare and Fatima

Today you will see 3 of the 7 Portuguese wonders, spending the day amongst Portuguese historical landmarks. Lose track of time in a Medieval village, admire the amazing gothic churches and have lunch in a picturesque Portuguese fishing village. You will end the day in Fatima, a center of Catholic Faith and world pilgrimage. Fatima is one of the most important catholic shrines in the world dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Fatima's Sanctuary welcomes millions of pilgrims and tourists from all over the world.

Obidos - What make it one of Europe's most romantic medieval villages are its incredibly picturesque cobblestone streets lined with colorful houses filled with geraniums and bougainvillea, Gothic doorways and windows, whitewashed churches and dazzling tiles -- all encircled by the walls of a 12th century castle.

Batalha - The Monastery of the Dominicans of Batalha was built to commemorate the victory of the Portuguese over the Castilians at the battle of Aljubarrota in 1385.

Alcobaca - Alcobaca is known for its principal attraction, the Abbey of Santa Maria. It is now Portugal's largest church, and one of its outstanding architectural monuments.

Nazare - It is said that the picturesque village of Nazare got its name from a statue of the Virgin Mary brought to town from Nazareth by a monk in the 4th century. Today it is Portugal's most famous fishing village, having always drawn visitors to its beach and genuinely colorful life.

Day 3

Evora Wine Tour - Including Lunch

Along the rolling landscape of Alentejo, you will pass fields of Olive trees, cork trees and vineyards, to find the charming town of Evora, a world heritage site of UNESCO. By the richness of its history, architecture, food and handicrafts, you will be transported to a different time with huge variety in flavours and styles. Evora makes for a fantastic tourist destination with numerous interesting sights, a traditional heritage and an unhurried ambience, in part due to the intensely hot summers. Historically, Evora was an important trading and religious centre, and this is reflected by the many tourists attractions which can be discovered within the city walls. Major sites include the Cathedral, Bones Chapel, University and Market as well as famed Evora wine cellars. Visit and enjoy a tasting at Herdade do Esporao. At the end of the day you will be returned to Lisbon.

Duration8 Hours
Day 4

Sintra Luxury - Including Lunch

Enjoy a luxury day touring Sintra. Enter in the fantasy of a beautiful romantic palace and wander the village. Sintra is steeped in history and offers some of the most exquisite natural and architectural sites in the country. Sintra is home to one of the most iconic and best-known images of this entire country, such as the Pena Palace, one of the world's best examples of Romantic architecture from the nineteenth century. Perched high on a hilltop above the town, seemingly emerging directly from the greenery at its summit, the Pena Palace is a protected national monument, both a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the official Seven Wonders of Portugal. You will have lunch in Sintra before departing for Colares on the tramway when possible (otherwise by private bus). From here you can appreciate the fabulous view from Europe's most western point. End the day along the coast, passing by Cascais and Estoril before your return to Lisbon.
