Explore London and stop and smell the roses on this leisurely tour through the greatest gardens and homes of Southeast England. After strolling through castle gardens and manor houses, you’ll return to London to experience the jewel in the crown: the RHS Chelsea Flower show, the world’s most famous gardening event.

This 10-day English vacation showcases the nation’s breathtaking gardens and culminates in the Chelsea Flower Show in London.

Your trip to England begins in London, the nation’s capital and one of the world’s grandest centres of history and culture. With history stretching back to Roman times and some of the finest architecture, galleries, and culture on the planet, people have been flocking to London for centuries. You’ll have a day to get acquainted with the city’s many highlights, including showstoppers like Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the Tower of London, and Buckingham Palace. Consider riding above the city on the London Eye, the massive Ferris wheel that whisks you 135m above the city. Also be sure to head into a local pub to enjoy a pint and some famous fish and chips before beginning your journey through England’s greenery.

Your countryside tour begins at Ightham Mote, a 700-year-old manor house boasting an ancient stone bridge and moat. After exploring the manor, head to Scotney Castle to explore its manicured gardens before reaching Tunbridge Wells, your base for the next few days. The next day, you’ll journey through the romantic gardens of Sissinghurst Castle to admire their gorgeous roses before heading to Great Dixter to see the old timber-framed homes and explores the gardens of famous English horticulturist Christopher Lloyd. Continue to Hever Castle to journey through the gardens and explore the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII. Afterwards, head to the RHS Garden Wisley, where you’ll stroll through world-class gardens and rock beds.

Your English vacation continues to Windsor, home to Windsor Castle, the official home of the British Royal Family. Spend the morning exploring this regal town and see the famous castle. After getting the lay of the land, join a tour of Savill Garden to see rare plants collected from all over the world. The next day, swap English manor houses for French chateaus at Weddesdon Manor before strolling through colourful gardens and enjoying stunning views of the River Thames in Clivedon.

Return to London and enjoy the grand highlight of the trip, the Chelsea Flower Shop, which attracts horticulturists and admirers from all over the world each May. Marvel at gardens capturing styles from across the world, including Japanese Zen gardens and Provence-style country orchards. Enjoy all manner of contemporary and classical flower designs and enjoy the regal style of the world’s most popular horticultural event. Close out your English vacation with a tour of the Kew Royal Botanic Gardens where you can marvel at the spectacular flowers one last time. At the end of your stay, head to the airport to continue your onward journey.
