FIRST-CLASS | SMALL GROUP TOURING: Explore the wonders of Malta on this incredible tour passing from the capital, Valletta, to the historical towns of Vittoriosa and Mdina. Along the way, you’ll visit picturesque harbours, enjoy cheese and wine tastings, and discover hidden coves and beaches across this charming Mediterranean archipelago.

This 7-day Malta vacation takes you to this island nation to explore its historical towns and natural highlights.

Malta is a small Mediterranean archipelago that’s jam-packed with historical treasures. Begin your Malta vacation in the capital, Valletta, and specifically the seaside resort town of St. Julian’s, which sits along the northeastern coast. St. Julian’s is a bustling town with picturesque architecture and a thumping nightlife. While in St. Julian’s and Valletta, you’ll visit the Upper Barracca Gardens, St. John’s Co-Cathedral, and the Grandmaster’s Palace Staterooms, as well as enjoy a pizza-making class and the freedom of the evening to take in the cocktail bars of Portomasa Marina or the energetic revelries of Paceville.

Spend the next few days taking in a few key historical sites on the island. First off is Vittoriosa, home to the iconic Fort St. Angelo and the Cottonera Waterfont. Later, head to historic Senglea to enjoy spectacular views of the coastline and explore remnants of the distant past. In Mosta, you’ll tour the famous domed church that remains an icon of Christian architecture. Perhaps more impressive is Mdina, the country’s old capital. Initially founded over 3,000 years ago, Mdina has passed between Romans, Christians, and Arabs and showcases the gorgeous architecture that such a heritage would suggest. You’ll also be lucky enough to enjoy a wine and cheese tasting at Meridiana Wine Estate to close out your exploration of the main island.

Continue your Malta vacation by heading north to the island of Gozo, where you’ll experience a blend of history, nature, and culture. First off, head to Hagar Qim, home to temples that predate recorded history. Get a taste for the island nation’s natural splendour with a cruise across the Blue Lagoon and a journey to the famous saltpans of Xwejni Bay. Close out your Malta vacation with a taste of the scrumptious fritas of Mekren Bakery and a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

With its rich history and fascinating geography, Malta rewards globetrotters who love to explore history in comfortable surroundings.
