Discover Switzerland’s unique natural treasures, its unparalleled mountains and lakes, on this extended journey through the Swiss Alps also taking in a part of Bavaria and a sojourn in Liechtenstein. Experience charming old cities and towns plus breathtaking views.

Join one of our unique small group Blue-Roads touring experiences (maximum 18 participants) that includes specially selected accommodations, transportation in purpose built Mercedes Benz Sprinters, sightseeing, special culinary experiences and a knowledgeable Tour Leader. 

Commence your exploration of Switzerland’s beautiful world famous mountains and lakes at Zurich airport where you will be transferred to Stein am Rhein for a walking tour of the local vineyards famous for their Pinot Noirs. Enjoy a wine tasting while there. Then continue along the River Rhein to Konstanz, a university city with a charming old town, unchanged since the Middle Ages with time to discover the old area of Konstanz before heading to Arbon for 2 nights’ accommodation.

The next morning, travel to the Island of Reichenau, a UNESCO World Heritage town with an interesting abbey dating back to 724 AD. Then it’s on to Unteruhldingen, known as the “Village on Stilts” due to the many houses built this way. Later cruise across Lake Konstanz to the Bavarian town of Lindau with its exceptional gardens. Return to Arbon.

The next day cross into the Duchy of Liechtenstein stopping at its capital, Vaduz and its castle, home to the reigning prince of Liechtenstein. Afterwards, continue to Chur, Switzerland’s oldest city where you will explore the old town with its quaint cobbled streets. Overnight in Chur.

Continue to Lucerne for a 2 night stay. Start with a walking tour of the city with its well preserved 14th Century wall, the Museggmauer and its medieval Chapel Bridge. Then visit a chocolatier to learn the history of chocolate making.

The following morning, take a boat ride to Vitznau and join the cog railway, Europe’s first mountain railway, to Mount Rigi where you will experience breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding region. Return by cable car and boat to Lucerne.

Next travel next through the green Swiss valleys to the village of Murren in the Bernese Oberland. Murren is a car-free village with access only by cable car. Enjoy a short walking tour before having a cheese fondue dinner in the evening. Stay 2 nights in Murren.

A highlight the following day is a trip to the Jungfrauhoch which rises to a height of 3450 metres/11,200 feet. Reach the mountain via Europe’s highest railway. From the top, you will be able to see 3 important and spectacular mountains, the Eiger, the Monch and the Jungfrau from the observation terrace.

Leave Murren and travel to the capital of Switzerland, Bern with its medieval streets and 800 year old history. Have a walking tour taking in the famous Bear Pit, the interesting clock tower and the 13th Century gate. Overnight in Bern.

The next day, continue to Egglwil where you will pay a visit to an Alpine horn maker and have the opportunity to try playing one. Then travel to Rhine Falls where you see Europe’s largest waterfall and take a boat trip into the middle of the falls. Later, return to Zurich airport.

Day 1

Zurich - St Gallen - Vaduz - Chur

This morning you'll meet the group in one of the most impressive cities in the world: Zurich. Then, it's all aboard the mini-coach as you make tracks to Schaffhauser Blauburgunderland, where you have a wine tasting and private tour to look forward to. You'll then make stops at St Gallen, where you'll visit the old library, and Vaduz before you reach Chur, your final destination of the day. Tonight, you'll get to know each other a little better over a welcome dinner.

After a hearty breakfast you'll launch into a walking tour of vibrant Chur, ticking off the likes of the Bishop's Palace, the car-free old town and the 13th-century Cathedral of the Assumption. The rest of the day will be yours to enjoy at your own pace in one of Switzerland's oldest cities.

Day 3

Chur - Lucerne - Weggis

A day of indulgence awaits you in Lucerne today, where you have an appointment to keep with a local chocolatier. After learning the secrets behind Swiss chocolate making, you'll take the time to savour a delicious sample (or two). Later you'll swap the mini-coach for a scenic boat ride across Lake Lucerne, setting ashore in Weggis, your base for the next two nights.

Day 4

Weggis - Einsiedeln - Mount Rigi - Weggis

After breakfast, there's a cheese fondue tasting at a local farm in Einsiedeln to look forward to. Then, you'll board the cog railway -- Europe's first ever mountain line -- and scale the towering Mt Rigi, taking in some magnificent views of deep blue lakes and snow-capped peaks along the way. Afterwards, you'll make your way back down to Weggis, where you'll have the evening to yourself.

Day 5

Weggis - Eggiwil - Bern

Today you'll leave Weggis behind you and make tracks to Eggiwil. Here, you'll meet a local alphorn maker, who'll reveal how the traditional instrument is made. Bern is next! With a guided walking tour and beer tasting on the agenda, there will be plenty of time for you to soak up the picture-perfect scenery.

Today, the day will be yours to visit the city's excellent museums and wander the cobbled centre at your leisure.

Bern - Thun - Interlaken - Wengen

Today your path will carry you away from Bern and onwards towards the striking Thun Castle. After you've had a look around, you'll continue to the TrĂĽmmelbach Falls. After splashing through the falls, you'll reach new heights on a cable car ride to Wengen, where you'll rest for the next two nights.

Day 8

Wengen - Jungfraujoch - Wengen

Today you'll be treated to some intoxicatingly beautiful vistas as you travel to the top of Mt Jungfrau aboard the Jungfrau Railway. After travelling back down to Wengen, you'll feast on your last dinner together.

Day 9

Wengen - Affoltern im Emmental - Zurich

After bidding a fond farewell to Wengen, you'll board the mini-coach to Affoltern im Emmental, where you'll enjoy a cheese tasting session at a local Emmental factory. Then, it's onwards to Zurich, where you'll visit the Botanical Gardens before your adventure ends.
