The tour starts by walking the small and narrow streets of Mykonos, where you will have the chance to see the famous windmills, small churches and learn about the old town. Did you know that according to mythology, Mykonos was formed from the petrified bodies of giants killed by Hercules? And did you know that the island took its name from the grandson of Apollo, "Mykonos"?
You will then explore the island by bus, visiting some of the most famous beaches and the inner landscapes. In Ano Mera, the second main village of the island, you will have some free time to stroll around. In the small central square you will find tavernas and pastry shops serving traditional sweets. Some sights worth visiting are the Monastery of Paleokastro on the opposite hill where one can see the remains of a Byzantine castle. There are remains of the ancient fort of the site and also of graves of the Geometric period. The next stop is Kalafatis Beach, where you will have time to relax and have a coffee or a refreshment (at own expense), before going back to town.
