For art lovers, history enthusiasts, or those fascinated by the infamous D-Day landing, this short Normandy trip from Paris is an essential extension to any Europe tour.
This 4-day extension from Paris bases you just outside the lovely town of Bayeux, allowing you to explore Normandy’s art history, and the historic sites of the famous D-Day landing.
Your first stop is Honfleur, a sea-side resort where you might want to visit France’s largest church, or the Museum of Eugene Boudin, a treasure trove of 19th and 20th century Normandy artwork. After settling into your chateau, your private escort and driver will take you to Sainte Mere Eglise. You may wish to visit the Museum of the Air-Landing-Troops before going on to Sainte-Marie du Mont via Utah Beach. Then visit Pointe du Hoc, which was taken by the Texas Rangers on the morning of June 6. Continue on to Omaha Beach and Colleville sur Mer to pay your respects at the American Cemetery.
The following day, visit Mont Saint-Michel and its famous Abbey. Enjoy some free time for lunch, then proceed to Granville to let design inspire you at the Christian Dior Museum. You’ll visit Dior’s childhood home, a Belle Epoque style villa with ocean views, while enjoying France’s only dedicated couture museum.
Stop in either Giverny or Rouen, depending on the season, before returning to either the airport for departure, or Paris for a few more days in the City of Lights.

Full Day Touring the D-Day Landing Beaches
After breakfast at your hotel you will be picked up by your driver/escort and departure to Sainte Mere Eglise. Here you will have time to visit (on your own) the Museum of the Air-Landing-Troops, situated in the centre of the village in a building in the shape of a parachute. Next you will continue to Sainte-Marie du Mont, with a stop en route at Utah Beach. You will then proceed to the east to Pointe du Hoc, which was attacked and taken by Texas Rangers on the morning of June 6th. Here you have free time for lunch (your driver/escort will be at your disposal to give you some suggestions). Then it is on to Ohama Beach and Colleville sur Mer to visit the American Cemetery (portrayed in the film 'Saving Private Ryan'). The cemetery is situated above Ohama Beach on a 20ha space with more than 9000 white crosses perfectly lined. This is a place of reflection and memory. Most of the soldiers buried here lost their live during the landing operations. You will then return to the hotel for dinner at your leisure.
Mont Saint-Michel and Granville
After breakfast you will leave for Mont St Michel with your driver/escort to visit the famous Abbaye of Mont Saint Michel. This magnificent architectural masterpiece is without doubt one of France's most famous sites. Built on an ancient mount that becomes surrounded by the sea, the town is dominated by its summit, the 11th century Abbey. Visit the Abbey (on your own with an audio-guide), the winding main street and the ramparts to enjoy breath-taking views over the bay. Then, free time for lunch (your driver/escort will be at your disposal to give you some suggestions). Proceed to the north as far as Granville to visit the Christian Dior Museum (on your own / entrance to the garden not included). Villa "Les Rhumbs", Christian Dior's childhood home in Granville, is a Belle Époque style 19th century cliff top villa overlooking the sea. It is the only "Musée de France" labeled French museum dedicated to a couturier and presents, since ten years, Haute Couture garments on three floors. The garden, arranged as an English landscape park by Madeleine Dior, the fashion designer's mother, is one of the rare artists' gardens of the early twentieth century remaining today. Before going back to your hotel, enjoy a tea/coffee break in a nice patisserie (possibility to visit the chocolate factory - on supplement). You will then return to the hotel for dinner at your leisure.
Normandy to Giverny and Paris
After breakfast you will check out from the hotel and begin your departure transfer with your driver/escort to return to Paris with a stop in Giverny (stop in Rouen instead between November and March as the gardens are closed). There will be a stop in Giverny, free time to visit the Gardens of Giverny (on your own) and free time for lunch at leisure.
