Embark on a journey through quintessential France, enjoying glasses of bubbly and robust red wines as you head from Paris to Nice. Along the way, you’ll stop off in charming villages, pass through fields bursting with flowers, and savour the soaring mountains of the southeast of France.

This 10-day French vacation takes you through the country’s vineyards and mountains on route from Paris to Nice. It features first-class accommodations, small group tours, and is a perfect trip for wine lovers.

Begin in Paris, the French capital and the most popular city in the world. Spend a night soaking in Paris’s famous atmosphere before connecting to your tour group and venturing out into the countryside. First stop is Champagne, where you’ll sample this delicious sparkling wine at a vineyard that used to house celebrated brand, Veuve Clicquot. Continue to Reims, where you’ll tour the stunning Gothic cathedral, before reaching Troyes, where you’ll stay the next two nights. A morning walking tour of Troyes will showcase the local marketplace before you take a day trip to Bayel to visit the Crystal Museum and witness a glass blowing demonstration while learning about the history of glass and crystal.

Continue your journey and stop off in Chablis to sample some of the region’s dry white wines. Reach Beaune in the heart of Burgundy and explore the city’s Gothic architecture. In addition to tasting Burgundian wines, you’ll visit the Hospice de Beaune, first founded in 1443, which now houses a museum. Turn to Chambery, stopping off at Chateau de la Greffiere to enjoy a picnic in the countryside. Continue to Chambery’s vineyards and enjoy a winery tour and wine tasting. While based in Chambery, spend a day exploring the picture-perfect alpine town of Annecy. Stroll alongside canals in the Old Town, gaze out over Lake Annecy, and enjoy the sights of the candy-coloured houses amid the cobbled streets. You’ll also visit a fromagerie to enjoy a cheese tasting.

Take a break from wine by visiting a Chartreuse cellar and distillery and sampling this unique French liquor. Continue into the mountains and enjoy the stunning view of the Vercors Massif. The next day, watch as mountains give way to wildflower meadows as you reach Sisteron and gaze out over the landscape from the Citadel. Reach Forcalquier, where you’ll enjoy a farewell dinner alongside your fellow travellers. On your final day, you’ll venture through the Provencal countryside and stop off in Entrevaux before reaching Nice, where your tour ends.
