From sophisticated Mediterranean resorts to attractive and charming small inland towns, you will be captivated by the beauty of this region. Add to this, history and pageantry dating back to Roman times, you will find a wealth of enjoyment to savour here.

Start your tour of this very interesting and attractive region of France in Nice. Immediately head to the unique Principality of Monaco with its glittering harbour and world renowned casino.

Afterwards, visit the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in St.-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, the former illustrious home of the Rothschild family. Return later to Nice for overnight.

Travel along the Riviera to Antibes with its narrow streets and impressive harbour followed by a visit to the beautiful town of St.-Paul-de-Vence and then to Vence known as the “City of Art” set in the hills of Provence where you will stay for 2 nights.

From Vence, head to Cannes, the sophisticated resort famous for its film festival. Later return to Vence with time to explore this medieval walled city with a history dating back to the 12th Century.

The next day, depart from Vence and travel to Aix-en-Provence with its narrow charming streets, old mansions and interesting architecture. Visit the studio of the impressionist painter, Paul Cezanne. Stay in Aix-en-Provence for 2 nights.

The next day is free to explore and enjoy the town.

The next stop is at historic Avignon on the River Rhone for 2 nights. This city with its famous damaged bridge is the former home to Catholic popes in the 14th Century. While here, visit the Palais des Papes.

The following morning brings a visit to St. Remy de Provence with its beautiful squares and fountains. Afterwards, take in the vineyards of the Cote du Rhone and enjoy samples from this important wine producing region. Also visit Orange with its well preserved Roman Theatre.

En route to your next stop, experience the amazing Roman aqueduct at Pont du Gard built in the 1st Century. Next is a journey through the Camargue, an area of wetlands and where the Camargue wild horses freely roam. Also visit the fortified village of Aigues Mortes. Arrive eventually in Arles, your home for the next 3 nights.

Arles is a very attractive well preserved medieval walled town with interesting narrow streets where both Picasso and Van Gogh spent time living and painting.

The following day is totally free to enjoy Arles.

Next day, head to the “Little Alps” region and the stronghold of Les-Baux-de-Provence with its ruined castle where you will enjoy remarkable views of the area. Also visit Carrieres de Lumieres where images and works of art are projected on to the walls of a quarry. 
Finally travel to Marseilles where your tour comes to an end.

Day 2

Nice - Antibes - Vence - Provence

After meeting the group in Nice, our first stop will be Antibes - where we'll take some time to stroll the picturesque old port. Then, it's onwards to Saint-Paul-de-Vence, one of the region's older medieval towns, where we'll enjoy a guided tour of the light-filled Chapelle du Rosaire de Vence: a chapel that was built from a plan created by the legendary Henri Matisse.

Later on, a welcome dinner awaits us in the Provence region.

Day 4

Aix-En-Provence - Arles

On day three, we'll have the chance to learn more about a centuries-old French tradition - delightful santons figurines - at the Santons Museum. Then, after stopping off in some classic Provençal villages and towns, we'll move on to Arles - a city that's famous as the inspiration behind Van Gogh's paintings - for a delicious included dinner.

Day 5

Arles

Today, Arles is yours for the taking - so why not seize the opportunity to uncover thousands of years of local history and culture? City highlights include the Arles Amphitheatre, the Church of St Trophime, the Langlois Bridge and the Vincent van Gogh Foundation.

Day 6

Arles - Les Baux-De-Provence - Saint-Remy-De-Provence

First today: A stop at the famous Les Baux-de-Provence (which is renowned for its Les Baux stone), where we'll see an extraordinary multimedia art show.

Then, it's onwards to a local olive farm, where we'll make the most of our glorious surrounds by tucking into a delicious picnic together. We'll even have the chance to taste some of the farm's olive produce too. Appetites satisfied, we'll make tracks to Saint-Remy-de-Provence, where a visit to the impressive Saint Paul de Mausole Monastery is lined up for us. Vincent van Gogh lived here from 1889 to 1890 - and in the Van Gogh Field, you'll have the opportunity to see 20 large-scale reproductions of his work.

Saint-Remy-De-Provence - Pont Du Gard - Avignon - Saint-Remy-De-Province

First today, we'll pay a visit to the iconic Pont du Gard - an ancient Roman aqueduct with no fewer than three tiers of archways. And this afternoon? We'll stop off in Avignon, where we'll visit the Palace of the Popes, before moving on to a local winery -where we'll visit the wine cellar and learn more about Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Cotes-du-Rhone wines (and indulge in a tasting session).

Tonight, we'll dine together back in Saint-Remy-de-Provence.

Day 8

Saint-Remy-De-Provence - Tourtour

First today: One of our tour highlights! This morning, we'll visit the idyllic Senanque Abbey, where we'll meet the monks and take some time to enjoy the calming atmosphere and picturesque surrounds.

After that, we'll move on to the fascinating L'Occitane-en-Provence factory in Manosque, where we'll step inside the museum and blooming gardens. After a sweet-smelling sensory experience, we'll set a course through the villages of Luberon to beautiful Tourtour: an amber-stoned town filled with delightful cobbled lanes and boutique shops.

Tourtour - Gorges Du Verdon - Tourtour

Onwards to the spectacular Gorges du Verdon - the jewel in the region's crown. Picture this, steep cliff sides, whitewater rapids and turquoise-coloured water. No wonder they call it the 'Grand Canyon of Europe'!

When we return to Tourtour, we'll come together for one last dinner at a local restaurant. What better way to round off the trip with a bang?

Day 10

Tourtour - Castellane - Nice

The last day of the tour will see us stopping off in lovely Castellane (don't forget to look out for the dizzyingly high Chapelle Notre Dame du Roc while you're here!).

Then, it's back to Nice, where we'll say goodbye to the group.
