Renaissance Cities of Italy Escorted: Rome to Rome

Duration
7 Days
Prices From:
US$ 1,334

Starting in Rome, this affordable, weeklong Italy tour is the perfect introduction to this complex country, still taking in its most beloved cities, as well as its peerless capital.

This 7-day escorted trip through Italy staying in 4 star hotels is short, but packed with unforgettable images. See the country’s best loved sights, and feel inspired for a return visit in the future.

Start in the eternal city, Rome, where a tour offers you a short overview of sights including the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps. Take the rest of the day at your own pace to explore the sights that interest you, but don’t feel rushed to see everything. You’ll be returning here at the end of your trip, and if time allows, a few extra days are highly recommended.

Set out early for Assisi, the mystic walled town of Saint Francis. Then spend an afternoon roaming medieval Siena, before going on to its traditional rival, Florence. Here lies the heart of the Renaissance, including the Piazza del Duomo, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the St John Baptistery, and the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. All these will feature on your guided tour, while your afternoon is at leisure to shop, sightsee, and experience the atmosphere of this beautiful city.

Speed your way to iconic Venice, stopping at Padua to admire the Cathedral of St Anthony, and pay your respects to Donatello’s Gattamelata. On arrival in Venice, a walking tour takes you to the Doge’s Palace, the Basilica of St Mark, the Bridge of Sighs and more. Overnight in this incredible city, then see it again in the morning, this time by boat before returning to Rome for one last night. If time allows, consider the Coliseum or Vatican museums, or find yourself at a favourite trattoria and watch the world go by.
