European Stopover & City Map

This 5-day stay is the ultimate way to experience Rome in style. Located between the Spanish Steps and the Piazza del Popolo, the Hotel de Russie nonetheless feels like a retreat far from the city’s hectic pace – with thousands of years of history right at your doorstep.

You’ll uncover the mysteries of Baroque Rome on a private Angels and Demons tour. Follow the clues throughout the city on the trail of the Illuminati. The path takes you via the Pantheon, Church of Santa Meria del Popolo, Church of Santa Maria Della Vittoria, and of course, the Vatican, so count on history and myth coming together on this thrilling day of your trip. Unwind afterwards in one of Italy’s favourite spots – the kitchen – as you enjoy a cooking class focussed on Roman specialties.

The following day, take a tour of the city’s best known sights including the Trevi Fountain and the Piazza Navona. Your afternoon is devoted to the Vatican Museums, where a guided tour takes you past the queues to explore the Raphael Rooms, the Sistine Chapel, the Gallery of the Candelabras and many more chambers. In fact, the museums hold over 65,000 pieces of art! You’ll also enjoy special access to the less known Niccoline Chapel, where access is usually limited to visiting dignitaries and clergy.

Set out for a day exploring the Naples region and Pompeii. Though synonymous with disaster, the Pompeii site today preserves many aspects of life in 79AD. There is plenty to discover on the road there as well, from the Abbey of Montecassino to the ancient cameos and coral factory in Torre del Greco. Return to Rome for your departure.

Hotel de Russie

Situated between the Spanish Steps and Piazza del Popolo, Hotel de Russie is a fascinating mix of old and new, with modern design that respects the classical architecture of the building. This paradise was later turned into an office building before Sir Rocco Forte fashioned it into one of Rome's most stylish luxury hotels. The 18th-century terraced gardens remain, but a contemporary-chic design has added polished updates. Fabled restaurant Le Jardin de Russie, where two-Michelin-star chef Fulvio Pierangelini creates Mediterranean dishes, is one of the most romantic places to dine in Rome.

Hidden Vatican Museum - Bramante Staircase and Chapel of Nicholas V- Private

The tour follows an itinerary which includes: the Pio Clementino Museum, the Gallery of the Candelabras, the Gallery of the Geographical Maps, and the Gallery of the Tapestries (Renaissance art), the Raphael Rooms, the Sistine Chapel, the opening of Bramante Staircase and Chapel of Nicholas V (Areas closed to the public). With special access to the historic Bramante Staircase, You will be taken past velvet ropes to experience more of the history, art and architecture of this enigmatic state, while still visiting all the most iconic sights of the Vatican. Usually closed to the public, the Bramante Staircase was once an entrance from street level to the Papal apartments, built to accommodate even horses.

The Niccoline Chapel, aka Cappella Niccolina, isn't seen by many visitors. Hidden away behind the Raphael Rooms and kept under lock and key, it's not on the usual Vatican Museum circuit. Indeed access here is usually reserved for visiting dignitaries, members of the clergy and famous people - until now.
