MODERATE | TAILOR-MADE: Head east to discover Vilnius, Lithuania’s baroque capital. Tour the Old Town to discover the medieval architecture and steepled-skyline of this Baltic Capital. Then get a taste for its eccentric side in the self-style “Republic of Uzupis,” an artists’ community located in a section of the city centre.
This 3-day city stopover is a great way to experience Vilnius. It allows you to choose your preferred level of accommodation and can be modified or extended. We at Goway are experts in customizing itineraries to suit your personal interests and budget and are at your service!
Experience a new corner of Europe in the Baroque streets of Lithuania’s capital, Vilnius. Founded in the 14th century, Vilnius is home to Europe’s largest old town built in the baroque style. As such, it’s a city of architectural marvel where you can admire medieval and early-modern styles sitting side-by-side. A day tour will take you to the major sites in the Old Town, from the neoclassical Vilnius Cathedral to the gothic Church of St. Anne to Gediminas Tower, a 14th-century tower that serves as the symbol of the city and that provides a great view of Vilnius’s many steeples. If you’re wanting to experience the city’s more eccentric side, head to Uzupis, an artists’ neighbourhood in the Old Town that declared itself an independent republic in a bohemian declaration of artistic rebellion and tongue-in-cheek humour. The area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and even has its own currency and flag!
This city stopover is a great add-on to other trips in Europe and an easy connection from Frankfurt or London.

Vilnius Old Town Walking Tour
Your tour begins in your hotel lobby, where you'll meet your private-guide and set off on foot toward the UNESCO-listed Old Town of Vilnius. With more than 1,200 medieval buildings and some 48 churches, Vilnius is a dreamscape for architecture enthusiasts. Baroque-style buildings feature most prominently in this area, though remarkable examples of Gothic and Renaissance architecture are also found in the district. During your walking tour, you'll visit Vilnius Cathedral, the Lower Castle and Upper Castle (host to Gediminas Tower), St. Anne's Church (the 16th century masterpiece of Gothic architecture), the Old University (the oldest University in Eastern Europe), Pilies Street, which is the best place to find local gift and souvenir shops, as well as the Gates of Dawn, which houses a holy image of the Virgin Mary that is believed by some to have miraculous powers. After a few hours exploring wondrous Vilnius, you will be escorted back to your hotel to conclude the tour.
