Wonderful Adriatic Cruise: Zadar to Dubrovnik

8 Days
On request

DELUXE | CRUISE: Enjoy a leisurely cruise through an archipelago of idyllic islands off the coast of Croatia on a Deluxe cruise vessel. The cruise is sandwiched between two lovely charming historic cities, Zadar and Dubrovnik. There is also time to explore the old city and port of Split.

This 8-day cruise from Zadar showcases the highlights of the Adriatic coast, including Split and Korcula, before finishing in Dubrovnik.

Begin by exploring Zadar's historic 'maze' of pedestrian streets, where a walking tour immerses you in 16th century Venetian history before sailing to Sali, where you'll enjoy dinner. TYour next destination, the Sibenik region, offers you the chance to immerse yourself in nature, exploring the waterfalls and trails of two national parks, the Kornati Archipelago, and Krka, noted for their unspoiled coves and impressive waterfalls, respectively (up for some spectacular swimming?).

Split is one of the must-see cities of the Adriatic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and home to the palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian. Surrounded by remnants of the Renaissance and Gothic eras, along with ancient sites, you’ll have the full evening to explore this fascinating city. Before you reach it, however, another World Heritage site awaits you at Trogir, a town located just across the bay from Split with its own fascinating history.

More stories await on Hvar, home to Europe’s very first public theatre (Sorry, Shakespeare!), and a wonderful choice of restaurants. Your next port is Korcula, thought to be the birthplace of Marco Polo. A morning walking tour will give you time to unravel its mysteries for yourself. By afternoon, you will arrive at Mljet Island, a natural treasure trove of forests, bird life, and unspoiled lakes.

Your final destination has been called the Pearl of the Adriatic, and adds to the increasing list of UNESCO World Heritage sites you've seen on you cruise. Dubrovnik is Croatia's fabled walled city, and a treasure trove of regional history. A walking tour will put your visit in perspective, before enjoying the rest of the day here to yourself. Perhaps take a walk along the famous walls, or just get lost in one of the Mediterranean's bona fide treasures.

Later, we sail to the island of Hvar where we enjoy a sightseeing tour that includes the first public theatre in Europe, the Franciscan Monastery, and many more historic sights. The evening is free to explore Hvar and to dine on your own in one of the excellent restaurants.

Note: Due to the limited capacity of the Hvar harbor (during peak season in July and August) the port of call can be substituted for Stari Grad/Jelsa. In that case transfers by bus will be organized to and from Hvar.
