Don’t have time for the full Portugal tour? This short adventure from Lisbon takes you to delightful villages, UNESCO World Heritage sites and places of pilgrimage, returning each night to the capital.


This escorted 3-day Portugal trip stays in a 4 star hotel. It is the perfect extension to a Lisbon city break, or an ideal return holiday for those with limited time.

Set out for the Sintra mountain range, walking through the Sintra village and snapping your photo at Cabo da Roca, Europe’s westernmost point. Enjoy the beaches and gardens of Cascais before returning to Lisbon for the night. Your second day takes you north to Obidos, where wrought iron balconies strike a picturesque contrast to whitewashed houses. Visit Portugal’s first gothic church, then go on to Batalha Monastery and Our Lady of Fatima, an important Christian pilgrimage site. After another night in Lisbon, explore Evvora, home to the Saint Francis Church and the Bones Chapel, stopping in at Azeitao wine cellar on your way back to Lisbon.

Day 1

Lisbon, Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Estoril

From Lisbon the tour leaves for the majestic fairytale Pena Palace in the Sintra mountain range. Afterwards, take some free time to walk the village Sintra, an important cultural landscape. The next stop is Cabo da Roca, the most western point in continental Europe. You will see spectacular views of several beaches as well as the landscape of Cascais village. On the way back to Lisbon stop to admire the Estoril Casino and its gardens. Overnight in Lisbon.

Day 2

Obidos, Nazare and Fatima

Today you will explore North of Lisbon, starting with Obidos. This small village is famous for the whitewashed houses and wrought iron balconies, and is surrounded by medieval walls. The next stop is Alcobaco to visit the church of the Monastery, the first entire gothic church in Portugal and also a UNESCO world heritage site. Weather dependent, stop at Sitio for a view of the beach and ocean. The afternoon will be spent visiting the Batalha Monastery and Our Lady of Fatima center of Christian faith and world pilgrimage. There may be time to attend a mass here or to visit the Basilica, the tombs of Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta, and heart of the shrine. Overnight in Lisbon.

Day 3

Evora

One day discovering the town of Evora, the entire town is a UNESCO world heritage site. Walk along the whitewashed streets and visit some important monuments: Saint Francis Church, the Bones Chapel, the University and the market. After a lunch in Evora, you will tour the oldest and most important wine cellar in Portugal, Azeitao. Upon return to Lisbon the tour is concluded.
