- On request
This morning you will depart from your hotel or apartment in Paris to experience an unforgettable day. The year 2014 marked the centenary of the beginning of the First World War. The approximately 650 war cemeteries, necropolises and memorials in the Nord- Pas-de-Calais region are silent witnesses to these tragic events. Among other sites, your driver-guide will show you the Vimy Memorial Park (the most prestigious Canadian monument in Europe) with its trenches and tunnels and the Wellington Quarry, a chalk quarry where New Zealand soldiers dug kilometres of tunnels for the Battle of Arras fought by British forces. You will also have an opportunity to discover the city of Arras with some free time for lunch (not included). The famous underground passages of Arras, called "Boves", were used to shelter the civilians, and the British soldiers launched a successful attack against the German army from there. At the end of the day you will be returned to your hotel or apartment in Paris.
