MODERATE | ESCORTED COACH TOUR: Discover the unrivaled natural wonders of breathtaking British Columbia and Alberta. Experience beautiful ocean vistas, soaring mountain peaks, plunging valleys and crystal-clear lakes. Cruise the spectacular Inside Passage with its stunning coastlines, walk on centuries-old glaciers at the Columbia Icefield and look out for wildlife. Famous Western hospitality is always at hand, whether you enjoy the cosmopolitan excitement of Vancouver, the lovely British-colonial feel of Victoria or the charms of resort towns Banff and Jasper.

This 14-day escorted coach tour immerses you in every aspect of Canada’s west coast beauty, from its Pacific waterways to the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Begin your journey in Vancouver and travel across the Strait of Georgia to Vancouver Island, then head inland across British Columbia through mountain passes to the resort towns of Jasper and Banff, taking in views from the world’s most scenic drives.

A city sightseeing tour will well-acquaint you with Vancouver, combining nature scenes of Capilano Suspension Bridge and Stanley Park with the cultural hotspots of Gastown, Chinatown, and more. Over the next few days, you’ll travel up and down the Strait of Georgia as you take in all the highlights across Vancouver Island, whose intrigue remains unparalleled for its small-town charm, maritime history, and encounters with wildlife. Whether it’s exploring the murals in Chemainus, salmon fishing on the Campbell River, whale watching in Telegraph Cove, or cruising the Inside Passage towards Prince Rupert, you’ll make memories for a lifetime while breathing in the fresh salty air of the Pacific.

Keep your head on swivel as you turn your back to the water and set your sights inland, travelling along the Yellowhead Highway. The Rockies will begin to loom closer the deeper you move into BC’s wild interior, as do the chances for wildlife sightings while you reflect upon days of the fur trade at Fort St. James National Historic Park.

Heights will peak at the Alberta border, where you will ascend to Mount Robson Viewpoint, the tallest tip of the Canadian Rockies. All views are stunning in this part of the world, but you’ll see that each still manages to take your breath away after hiking through Jasper and Banff National Parks. Dramatic inclines, alpine meadows, river canyons, and glacial lakes mark these landscapes, giving you a mental refresh. Special outings to unforgettable locations like the picture-perfect shores of Lake Louise or riding the Ice Explorer to traverse the ancient Athabasca Glacier will be in store for you, so don’t forget to bring your camera. Travellers will also have the option to engage in activities of their choosing, among the likes of rafting on the Athabasca River, helicopter tours over the eastern ranges of the Rockies, or a gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain. There will be plenty of hiking options for all levels of experience, and free time to explore the area as the magic of the mountains surrounds you.

Your return trip towards the Pacific will stop in Craigellachie where you’ll find the exact spot where the last strike joined the Canadian Pacific Railway, linking the country from coast to coast. Carry on to Vernon in the lush Okanagan Valley, famous for its vineyards and orchards. Get a few souvenirs for your trip home before a stop at Kalamalka Lake, eventually finishing off your drive in Vancouver, where you’ll have the option of a farewell dinner cruise with your new travel mates.

You’ll have time to squeeze in some last minute shopping or grabbing any foods off your must-eat list before taking an independent transfer to the Vancouver International Airport, or perhaps stick around a while longer if you haven’t got enough of Canada’s wild west.
