MODERATE | SMALL GROUP TOURS: Take the family on an adventure through some of the most spectacular natural scenery in the USA as you explore Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Watch Old Faithful as it shoots boiling water high into the sky, swim in a bubbling hot spring, and cruise along the Snake River that weaves its way from Yellowstone down to the Grant Teton. Spot wildlife like moose, bears and beavers, and follow along with a real-life wolf tracker who might teach you a couple of secret tracking tricks.

This 6-day tour of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks is fun for the whole family. Kids and adults alike will rejoice at the gunslinging frontiers of Wyoming, ancient geysers of Old Faithful, relaxing hot springs, and the high chances of a natural wildlife encounter. Your trip consists of small group tours, including an expedition with a real-life wolf hunter with a few tricks up their sleeves.

The adventure begins in Jackson, Wyoming, following the footsteps of old fur trappers and mountain men right up to the doors of the Jackson Hole Historical Society. You’ll see the wild wild west unfold with your own eyes during a “Shoot Out” in George Washington Memorial Park, where local actors recreate an old-time gunfight that’s sure to be a thrill for the whole family. Afterwards, you’ll get acquainted with other families in your tour group for dinner at a local restaurant.

Nature begins to unfold at the borders of Grand Teton National Park, whose jaw-dropping terrain consists of snowy mountain peaks, pristine glacial lakes, verdant forests, and meadows full of flowers. Inspiration Point will provide you with scenic views in addition to a boost of happiness, as will the mountain’s reflections on the crystalline waters of Jenny Lake. Don’t forget to pack a picnic as you settle in the grass, keeping an eye out for any hungry critters who might try to nibble a bite to eat. Your time in Teton will also take you out on Snake River, flanked by tall pine forests and their fresh scent as you float down the river on a raft to spot moose, elk, beavers, and bears in their natural habitat. Later, your family will gather around a chuckwagon meal at the famous Bar J Chuckwagon like the cowboys used to, sharing your tallest tales and embracing the spirit of the Wild Wild West.

Moving on to Yellowstone, the world’s first national park, you’ll jump with excitement as you see Old Faithful spray 4000 gallons of boiling water up into the air. A local guide will take you down forest paths and to the Mammoth Hot Springs, where you’ll unwind with a nice soak before being whisked back into this magnificent park with all its hidden waterfalls and vast stretches of green. Among all of the foliage are the homes of grizzly bears, elk, wolves, and buffalo herds, so tread peacefully through the trees and you might be lucky enough to spot one from afar in its natural environment. An expert wolf tracker will join you one day with tip-top binoculars and high-powered spotting scopes to share the tricks of their trade, as you set off on the trail of one of Yellowstone’s majestic wolf packs.

Your park expedition will come to an end in Jackson, where you’ll be free to continue exploring with some of the families you met on the tour, or carry on your own way to share photographs with everyone back home.

Depending on your time of arrival, you may want to check out some of the local attractions, like the Jackson Hole Historical Society. Once you’ve done exploring the town and settled into your accommodations, join your group for a meeting at 5 pm. Afterwards, wander over to the Town Square to see the evening’s “Shoot Out” in which local actors recreate an old-time gunfight in George Washington Memorial Park. The Shootout is the longest continuously running gunfight in the U.S. and sure to be a lively show for the whole family. After the shootout, head with your group to a local restaurant for a welcome dinner and get to know the other families on your trip. It’s very important that you attend the welcome meeting as your tour leader needs to collect insurance and emergency contact details. Please let us know ahead of time if you are going to be late.
