Our Qatar Vacations & Tours

Qatar is quickly emerging as one of the most appealing destinations in the Arabian Peninsula. It’s one of the smallest and richest countries in the world, which is a result of the nation’s oil and gas boom over the past few decades. This boom has led to a rapid growth in the capital city Doha and its emergence as a tourist destination. Doha has transformed from a port town to a metropolis with a new skyscraper joining the skyline seemingly every month. The man-made island of The Pearl-Qatar epitomizes the city’s newfound cosmopolitan allure. Built on an old pearl diving site, it’s home to a mix of commercial and residential districts all along a 4km-long constructed island in the gulf. Its mix of restaurants, hotels, and beach resorts are among the trendiest spots in the city. But Doha hasn’t lost its connection to tradition in the midst of urban growth. The marketplace of Souq Waqif offers a chance to travel back in time at stalls and shops peddling everything from spices to gold to arts and crafts. The city’s many museums also offer great insight into the nation’s history.

Beyond Doha, the desert attracts visitors who want to ride over sand dunes and experience the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets that are only possible in its open expanses. The Inland Sea offers an oasis in the midst of this desert and an attractive option for a day trip from Doha. And the beaches of Abu Samra on the eastern coastline offer sandy stretches of curated resort properties, hotels, and waterparks. Qatar works marvellously as a stopover point for further vacations to the Middle East, Eastern Asia, or the African continent.

What is there to do in Qatar?

Souq Waqif

A traditional marketplace in the capital where travellers can barter for spices, arts and crafts, clothes, textiles, and various kinds of souvenirs. The souq preserves the atmosphere of a pre-oil boom Doha, while also offering a variety of restaurants that are appealing to visitors and locals alike.

Katara Cultural Village

Located in the capital between the West Bay and the Pearl-Qatar, this cultural village offers a combination of popular museums, galleries, cinemas, and restaurants along the picturesque waterfront. Travellers can take in scheduled exhibitions, gallery installations, and live performances, or head to the planetarium or orchestra for permanent attractions. The village hosts festivals throughout the year, while the restaurant and shopping remain popular all year round.

Museum of Islamic Art

Located along the Corniche in Doha, this museum is considered one of the greatest collections of Islamic art in the world. You’ll find exhibitions of artifacts, ceramics, and textiles from the past 1,400 years, as well as a series of important Islamic manuscripts. The building itself, with its whitewashed geometrical exterior and ornamented interior, is a highlight in its own right.

National Museum of Qatar

The largest public museum in Qatar, featuring a wide range of exhibits tracing the history of the region, the birth of the Qatari state, and the oil boom. The museum combines multimedia displays and exhibitions of artifacts and important archaeological and anthropological materials. It offers a great overview of the nation’s history.

Abu Samra

This settlement along the coastline in the nation’s southeast is home to some of the most popular beaches in the entire nation. You’ll find a variety of hotels, resorts, and beachside properties along the coastline that offer travellers a beach escape on the Arabian Peninsula. The presence of the Desert Falls Water & Adventure Park, one of the largest waterparks in the Middle East, adds to the region’s appeal as a resort destination.

Qatar Desert & Inland Sea

The Qatar desert is a landscape of shifting sand dunes across the majority of the nation’s interior. You’ll find rock formations and historic settlements throughout the desert, but the ever changing nature of the sands and the large dunes are the primary attractions. A desert safari offers a chance to ride across the dunes and experience the enchanting atmosphere. The Inland Sea, known as Khar al Adaid, offers an oasis in the Qatari desert. It’s a UNESCO listed natural reserve and a great spot for day trips from Doha or an evening of camping.

When is the best time to visit Qatar?

The best time to visit Qatar is in the late fall through winter from mid-November to mid-March. This is known as the cool season, when daytime temperatures average between 22°C and 26°C and the humidity is lower than during the hot summer months. In the hot season of late spring and summer, the humidity and heat drastically increases, with averages between 30°C and 40°C.
