The Seychelles, just south of the equator, is made up of 115 islands of which 16 offer accommodation. However, most visitors will find themselves on one of the three major islands on a Seychelles vacation, Mahe, Praslin and La Digue. One can easily island hop reaching each island by regular boat service.

Naturally, a Seychelles vacation is synonymous with beach vacations and rightly so. One can find an outstanding range of accommodations from 5-star resorts, exclusive island retreats and spa-oriented properties to Creole guesthouses. The beaches are all uncrowded with powder-soft sands nestled next to turquoise waters. For watersports enthusiasts, there are wonderful opportunities for snorkeling and scuba diving in the Seychelles islands.

What are the top cities to visit?

Mahe is the largest island of which the capital is Victoria. It has a dazzling coastline and excellent tourist facilities including a casino. An excursion will take you to the Morne Seychelles National Park which is located at the highest point on the island. The drive from Victoria is stunningly scenic. Once there, one can go walking on the beautiful nature trails.

Praslin is the second largest island with a mountain ridge running through the middle. Once again, the tourist facilities are excellent. It has a reputation for some of the best restaurants in Seychelles. On the island, one should visit the Valleee de Mai National Park which has a UNESCO world heritage listing.

What are the top things to see?

La Digue is a tropical paradise cloaked in the tangled jungle and is the least commercial and the most laid-back of the three major islands. One will truly appreciate the lush beauty and the back-to-nature quality here on a Seychelles vacation.

The Seychelles has four national marine parks and one is never very far from regions offering the ability to see the wildlife, the most prolific of which are tropical fish and birds.

A Seychelles vacation is truly a destination paradise with all one can wish for in the way of natural beauty.
