Alice Springs Tours & Holiday Experiences
Alice Springs, also known as “The Alice” or simply “Alice", is the country’s most famous outback town and gateway to the Red Centre on an Australia vacation. This remote town (it is halfway between Adelaide and Darwin and 1500 kilomteres/950 miles from the nearest major city). is popular as a gateway to nearby natural wonders such as Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) in the middle of the rich red sand desert.
Alice has evolved from being a simple telegraph station to a destination on trips to Australia with a reputation for having a quirky character due to its camel races and interesting festivals.
Discover Australia’s oldest culture and visit the Aboriginal Culture Centre. Take a tour of the Royal Flying Doctor and School of Air, which serve locals living in remote areas. Known as the aboriginal art capital, visit Todd Mall and its galleries of aboriginal art. You can try a unique bush tucker feast created by a walkabout chef in one of the many restaurants and you can go up Anzac Hill to witness the sunset and have a view of the city.
For an adventure outside Alice Springs, travel to Palm Valley and by 4WD see the spectacular rock formations. Something unusual to do is to take in the awe-inspiring landscape of the outback by going for a ride in a hot air balloon.
One extraordinary thing about Alice Springs is that at night the view of the Milky Way will amaze you.
