Escalante Vacation Packages and Tours

  • Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, Utah

Southern Utah is famous for its stunning red canyons and Martian-like terrain spread out over a number of nature preserves and parks. Escalante, a small town tucked quietly along the Utah Scenic Byway 12, is the perfect base to explore the warm-toned region. The welcoming town is filled with casual mom-and-pop eateries where you can fuel up before venturing off into the breathtaking stretches of desert. Cozy inns welcome you back at night for a good night’s rest before another day of adventure.

Escalante’s 1.7-million-acre backyard is home to the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, where you can weave through colourful slotted canyons and scale dramatic sandstone cliffs. Active waterfalls break the mirage at Calf Creek Falls in the Escalante Canyons, a welcome refreshment under the hot sun. At night, black skies bring out a twinkling blanket of stars that shine bright across the desolate terrain, making for an unforgettable sunrise as the light burns red on rugged buttes and dramatic rock formations.

Less than an hour west are the towering spires and chiselled amphitheaters of Bryce Canyon National Park, containing some of Utah’s most stunning scenery. Escalante is flanked on the east by Capitol Reef National Park, renowned for its Waterpocket Fold, gravity-defying arches, and white sandstorm domes. Both parks are a paradise for outdoor lovers, and Escalante is the ideal base camp to support your hiking and sightseeing dreams.
