Tuscon Vacation Packages and Tours

Smack in the middle of the desert and surrounded by cacti, Tucson is one of the hottest places in the United States, and not only because it enjoys more than 350 days of sunshine per year. This UNESCO City of Gastronomy brings the heat with strong regional flavours and an agricultural history that dates back more than 4000 years, using ingredients indigenous to the area, including prickly pear cactus. Tucson’s culinary culture takes a sustainable approach to combine Spanish, Mexican, and American influences, most notably culminating in the Sonoran hot dog, a Tucsan take on the classic ‘dog that involves a bacon-wrapped wiener, pinto beans, salsa verde, and veg toppings on bolillo roll.

Dive deep into Tucson history at Barrio Viejo, meaning “old neighbourhood” in Spanish. History buffs and foodies alike will marvel at its colourful adobe buildings housing local shops, trendy bars, and Mexican eateries. Afterwards, a visit to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum will show you the natural diversity of the state as a zoo, botanical garden, and museum all in one.

Sweat it off and keep your hands to yourself as you explore Saguaro National Park, home to the nation’s tallest cacti. Catch the moonrise over jagged rock cliffs and hike into ancient lands to the petroglyphs of the prehistoric Hohokam people as you explore the gorgeous southwestern terrain. On the other side of Tucson lies Mount Lemmon, providing cooler temperatures in its pine forests and offering picturesque Americana landscapes whether you go by foot, bike, or car.
