World Youth Day 2023 will take place in fascinating Lisbon, Portugal. After a very successful WYD in Panama City 2020, Lisbon is set to take the stage for the next great gathering of Catholic devotees in a week-long immersion of faith and fellowship under the guiding presence of Pope Benedict XV1. While the event itself celebrates the Catholic faith, the invitation to attend extends to all youth, regardless of religious convictions.
Lisbon is one of Europe’s renowned pilgrim gateway cities with its colourful buildings, hilly streets and friendly locals. Be sure to take to time to visit Sao Jorge Castle, stroll the narrow streets for bargains, people-watch at an outdoor café and relax on one of the many nearby beaches.
