Minimum age for children?
The minimum age for children is 7 years old accompanied by adult over the age of 21 years.
What should I pack?
Dress is casual aboard the Zambezi Queen. We suggest you bring along the following:
- Lightweight long pants and long sleeved tops
- T-shirts and shorts
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Sunscreen, mosquito repellant and camera
- raincoat and hat
How much luggage should I bring?
There is no limit on the amount of luggage but for your comfort we recommend luggage not exceeding that permissible on international/domestic airlines.
Are the cabins assigned in advance?
At the time of reservation confirmation, you will be assigned either a suite or master suite. Subject to availability special requests will be considered.
What is the maximum of passengers per cabin?
Maximum of 2 passengers per suite
Do the cabins have drinking water?
All water on board is purified but we recommend drinking bottled water.
What is the smoking policy?
Smoking is forbidden on all internal areas on the Zambezi Queen. Smoking is only permitted on the outside area of the entertainment deck.
What if I have a special dietary requirement?
Wherever possible, special dietary requirements will be accommodated, but this should be finalized and agreed prior to confirmation of the booking.
What is the best currency to use?
We accept either South African Rands, Namibian Dollars, Botswana Pula or US Dollars.

What type of boat is it and how what are the dimensions?
It is a steel hull river boat and the dimensions are; length: 150 ft or 45.7m, beam: 25.6 ft or 7.8m and draft: 2.3 ft or 700 mm

Electricity: 220 V
What safety standards are applied?
The Zambezi Queen meets European inland water safety standards.

Total crew including ground staff, approximately 60
What is the capacity of guests on board?
There is a total 14 comprising 10 suites and 4 master suites with a total of 30 passengers
