Touch down in Cape Town, the Mother City where two oceans meet. You’ll have three days at leisure, allowing you to plan your Cape Town adventure as you see fit. Take the cable car up to spectacular Table Mountain views, explore the sobering history of Robben Island, sample the flavours and colours of the Bo Kaap neighbourhood, or embark on one of the region’s many day trips, to the Winelands, or the Cape of Good Hope. No matter which activities fill your days, you’ll fall in love with all that is Cape Town.
Fly to Johannesburg, then transfer to Pilanesberg Game Reserve for your South Africa safari. Embark on dawn and dusk safaris, when the animals are most active. In between, devote your day to relaxing at the 5-star Ivory Tree Game Lodge, or visit nearby Sun City entertainment complex. The volcanic landscape of Pilanesberg ensures some spectacular backdrops, so bring a good camera to capture those wildlife shots. Elephants and white rhinos are particularly abundant here.
Stop over in Doha on your way home. Your time is at leisure for the most part, except for a desert adventure that will take you to spectacular Khor Al Adaid, otherwise known as the inland sea. With the rest of your time, you can enjoy golden beaches and largely untouched islands, explore Doha's rapidly expanding art and foodie scenes, walk the corniche, or check out the venues for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The next 3 days are totally at your leisure in Cape Town. Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world strategically situated at the south western tip of Africa. The city lies about 60km north of Cape Point, in a natural bowl, with the magnificent Table Mountain to the rear, and the vast Atlantic Ocean to the front. Cape Town, the Mother City, is historically, culturally and visually the most diverse, breathtakingly scenic and vibrant city in South Africa. There is so much to see and do. Explore the fabulous shops at the V&A waterfront or consider a trip to Robben Island or a trip up Table Mountain for dramatic views of the whole of the Cape Peninsula. It is highly recommend you prebook the excursions (additional cost) that are of interest (Table Mountain cannot be prebooked).

Cape Town to Pilanesberg
After your breakfast this morning at the hotel, you will be transferred to Cape Town airport for your flight to Johannesburg in the morning. On arrival in Johannesburg, look out for your name on the signboard held by your driver for your transfer through to your game lodge. This drive is about a total of 3.5 hours, mostly by tar road with the end of the journey within the game park, which already will be the start of your game experience. On arrival at your lodge, you will get a chance to freshen up and time permitting head out for your first 4x4 game drive to try and spot the Big 5.

Ivory Tree Game Lodge is situated in the north eastern region of the Pilanesberg National Park, the closest point of entry is through Bakgatla Gate, nestled in the basin of an ancient amphitheatre divided by riverine woodlands and elephant trails lies an exclusive lodge development site. The rooms are decorated in a range of earthy tones ranging from terra cottas to deep blues, the rooms have been carefully coordinated to ensure comfortable seating both indoors and out. The lodge uses custom built 10 seater open game viewers which permit maximum all around visibility. The park is home to a wide variety of general game including the Big 5, in addition both species of rhino occur, namely black and white, and cheetah and wild dog.

The next two days is devoted to the wildlife in the park and taking in the facilities of your lodge. Included in your stay is dawn and afternoon/evening safaris and the hotel does have a swimming pool and lovely patio areas to enjoy the wildlife that comes to you while relaxing at the lodge.

Discover The Desert and Inland Sea
Discover the remarkable desert landscape where sand dunes spill into the azure waters of the Inland Sea. Our qualified desert drivers will take you on an adventure, traveling through the dramatic sand dunes to Khor Al Adaid, a large tidal embayment recognized for its outstanding natural heritage value.
After being collected at your hotel drive we drive approximately 1 hour to the entrance of the desert at Sealine. Here we have a brief stop to deflate our tires, but you will also have an opportunity to take a tea break, or camel ride. From here, the adventure starts with our off-road desert drive through the dramatic sand dunes. Your experienced driver will navigate the dunces until we reach Khor-Al-Adaid or the inland sea. You will have an opportunity to take in the magnificent desert landscape, visit the towering Sheraton Dune and marvel at the azure waters of the Arabian Sea before we depart for a brief comfort stop at our desert camp before heading back to Doha.
