Begin your adventure with a half-day tour of the Panama Canal, marvelling at the canal engineering, with stops at the Panama Canal Administration Building and the Goethals Monument commemorating the chief engineer. Continue to the Steven Circle Monument, the former Albrook Military Air Force Station, the Clayton Military Base, and the renowned Miraflores Locks, where you’ll find large boats sailing through the canal.
Board an aerial tram, ascending 280 feet above the Gamboa Rainforest Reserve and set off on a mile-long trip above the humid rainforest canopy. Keep your eyes peeled for birds, lounging sloths, and leaping whiteface capuchins, and listen for the sounds of howler monkeys before returning to the ground, but only for a moment, as you’ll quickly embark on a boat tour of Gatun Lake. Float alongside huge tankers and container ships passing through the Panama Canal and search for the turtles, caiman, and crocodiles that call the lake home.

Half Day Panama Canal Tour

Today's experience allows you to visit a number of attractions related to the Canal and its history. See the Panama Canal Administration Building and the Goethals Monument commemorating the chief engineer of the Panama Canal. Visit the Stevens Circle Monument, the former Albrook Military Air Force Station, and head to the Clayton Military Base. Most importantly, visit the renowned Miraflores Locks to see large ships making their way through the Canal and learn about its operations at the Visitor Center. Half Day Aerial Tramway and Gatun Lake Boat Expedition
Get ready for some excitement today as you strap in and fly along an aerial tramway that traverses a mile-long tract of humid forest that lies within the Gamboa Resort’s boundaries. You will observe the forest canopy in some areas, likely spotting birds and hearing howler monkeys along the way. The tram ascends 280 feet for over half a mile and ends atop a hill. Then, on the following boat tour, you will pass by the Panama Canal right beside the huge tankers and container ships. The whiteface capuchin and howler monkeys are the main attractions of this tour. If you are attentive you may spot a sloth, always often times seen lazily sleeping in their trees. You may see turtles, timid but brave at the same time, along with the proud caiman and crocodiles that live in the lake. Your tour concludes with a delicious lunch and a transfer back to your accommodation.

Panama City to Bijao Beach Resort
After a leisurely morning and hearty breakfast, you’ll check out from your hotel. Soon after, you’ll hop into a private vehicle to begin your transfer to Playa Santa Clara. Upon arrival to Playa Santa Clara, check in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at leisure.
