Magical Malawi

Duration
13 Days

FIRST-CLASS | PRIVATE-GUIDED: Madonna may have helped put it on the mainstream map, but Malawi has been one of Africa’s hidden delights for years. Focused on the national parks, this Malawi tour showcases the country’s natural beauty.

This 12-day Malawi trip keeps the focus on nature and lets the country’s beauty speak for itself.

Start at Mkulumadzi Lodge in Majete, with game drives, walks, or boating adventures – two per day are included – taking you to see antelope, zebras, hartebeest, kudus, elephants, buffalo, and perhaps even rare Black Rhinos. After your wildlife adventure, taste the refinement of the 1920s at Huntingdon House, an original family home with perfectly manicured gardens, secret patios and terraces, and more for you to explore, all surrounded by superb Malawi scenery. You’ll also have a full day to explore Satemwa Tea Estate.

Go on to Liwonde National Park, where the game drives, nature walks, and boating safaris centre on the Shire River, which flows to the mighty Zambezi. Its source is your next destination, Lake Malawi. This is one of the great lakes of Africa, and one of Malawi’s most picturesque areas, supporting a wide range of wildlife including hippos, monkeys, and fish eagles. Even the rare painted hunting dog has been spotted in recent years.

Spend a few days at leisure before returning to Lilongwe for departure.
