Economy Class

If you choose to travel in Economy you'll be provided with comfortable seats which have the following dimensions:

  • Armrest to armrest: 43.18 centimetres
  • Armrests up: 93.98 centimetres
  • Seat space: 45.72 centimetres
  • Legroom: 43.18 centimetres
  • Recline: 28 degrees from the upright position

First Class

When you choose First Class you'll enjoy extra room to stretch your legs and comfortable deluxe reclining seats.

  • Armrest to armrest: 43.18 centimetres
  • Armrests up: 93.98 centimetres
  • Seat space: 45.72 centimetres
  • Legroom: 49.53 centimetres
  • Recline: 40 degrees from the upright position

Sleeping Berths

Sleeping compartments are available on long-distance journeys, such as Sydney to Brisbane and Sydney to Melbourne and v.v.

Each sleeping compartment contains two berths, 185 centimetres long by 72 centimetres wide, and shares a toilet and shower with the adjacent compartment. The fare includes bed linen, towels, toiletries and a complimentary breakfast.

Each compartment also has a 240-volt power outlet for shavers. Call buttons are provided and a passenger attendant is on call through the night.

Food and drinks

A buffet car on each train service provides a variety of hot and cold meals as well as snacks and drinks for purchase, these can be taken back to guest seats.

Announcements will be made on the train regarding main meal options available on the day.  Passengers wishing to purchase a hot meal will need to order it from staff when they walk through the carriage taking orders. Each train has a limited number of hot main meals. Those travelling alone with small children, elderly people and those with disabilities that prevent them from visiting the buffet car can arrange to have their meals brought to their seats. Form of payment is cash, credit cards and eftpos/Interac except in some remote areas where network coverage is limited. Therefore it is recommended all customers have cash available for purchases

Washrooms

Washrooms are located at the end of each car and may be used at any time. The men's room are equipped with 240-volt power outlets suitable for shavers. One facility on each train is wheelchair accessible.

Baby change facilities

Each train has a fold-down baby change table. 

Onboard electricity supply

The only power supply available is for the use of electric shavers. 240-volt power outlets are provided in sleeping berths and in the men's washrooms only. 

Onboard magazine

The onboard magazine, XPtraveller is a great travel browse, full of wonderful travel ideas to destinations within New South Wales and Australia. XPtraveller is produced every two months and is placed in every seat pocket.
