This is the perfect tour for a first time visitor to India. You will be with our local escort from the time you arrive in India to the time you leave. This tour gives you the very heart of India with its many colourful sights and sounds and its magical ambience. No visitor to India returns quite the same.
Day 1. Depart North America. Fly from your home city to either Toronto, New York or Los Angeles and connect to your International flight to Delhi.
Day 2. Arrive Delhi. You will be met and transferred to your hotel by Goway's representative. India's capital, Delhi, blends the old and the new providing an interesting combination. Overnight at your hotel.
Day 3. Delhi Sightseeing. After a late breakfast, you will enjoy a combined full day city tour of Old and New Delhi. This will include the Red Fort, Gandhi's cremation site (Raj Ghat), the Jama Masjid Mosque, Humayan's Tomb, India Gate, the President's House, the Parliament Building and the Qutub Minar Tower. BD
Day 4. Delhi to Varanasi. Fly to India's holiest city where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, drive to Sarnath and where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon. BD
Day 5. Varanasi to Khajuraho. Take an early morning boat ride on the holy River Ganges to see the extraordinary early morning activities taking place. Thousands of faithful come daily to the banks and bathe and pray, while in the background temples and palaces rise in tiers from the waters edge. This is the ultimate experience! Later, return to the hotel for breakfast and the balance of the morning is free to go shopping or sightseeing. Depart for the airport and fly to Khajuraho for your overnight. BD
Day 6. Khajuraho. Khajuraho is famous for its superb sculptures depicting aspects of Indian life over the centuries. In the morning, you will visit the Western temples. In the afternoon, you will visit the Eastern temples of Khajuraho. Its architecture is witness to the Chandela Dynasty. The Lakshmana and Vishwanath Temples to the front and The Kandriya Mahadev, Jagadami and Chitragupta Temples displays the best craftsmanship of Khajuraho. BD
Day 7. Khajuraho to Agra. Travel by road to Jhansi Railway Station via Orchha where you will be put on the Shatabdi Express for Agra. On arrival in Agra, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for overnight. BD
Day 8. Agra. Agra is the home of the fabled Taj Mahal. Wonder at the marvel of this marble monument to love, built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a tomb for his beloved wife. Also visit Agra Fort which was built by Akbar the Great. BD
Day 9. Agra to Jaipur. This morning, leave Agra and first visit en route to Jaipur, Fatehpur Sikri, the Ghost City built in 1569. It is completely deserted and left in solitude a reminder of older times. Travel from here to Jaipur. The balance of the evening is at you leisure. Overnight in Jaipur. BD
Day 10. Jaipur. In the morning, visit the Amber Fort with its magnificent views of the surrounding countryside and also ride an Elephant. In the afternoon, you will have a tour of the city including Jai Singh's Observatory and the City Palace. Known as the Pink City due to the colour of the stone used in its buildings, Jaipur has a timeless quality reflected in its bazaars and thoroughfares. Take time to enjoy the sights and sounds while shopping along the main streets of Jaipur and stop at the Hawa Mahal, or Wind Palace. BD
Day 11. Jaipur to Mumbai. Check out and transfer to Airport to catch the flight to Mumbai. Mumbai is India's most cosmopolitan city and important commercial centre. Upon arrival into Mumbai transfer to Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. BD
Day 12. Mumbai. After breakfast, depart for a full day sightseeing tour of the city visiting the Gateway of India. This landmark of Mumbai was built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to Bombay in December 1911. Next visit the Mani Bhawan, The Old Mumbai residency of Mahatam Gandhi. It's two storied building that now the reference library with over 2000 books of the Mahatam's life. Proceed to the a railway station, is a brilliant specimen of the Victorian Gothic style of architecture Victoria terminus -Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus - in India. Once called Victoria Terminus, the station is positioned on the suburban railway tracks of Mumbai. BD
Day 13. Mumbai (Bombay) to North America. Depart from this engaging land with many memories arriving in North America the same day to connect to your flight to your home city. B
