Globetrotters Taste Portugal with Goway on Douro River Cruise

Goway is inviting travelers to taste the Douro Valley with a new special on its popular cruise.

Goway is offering Portugal-bound Globetrotters the chance to explore the beautiful Douro Valley on the water, sampling the local culture, scenery, and of course wine, with a hefty saving on April departures.

Portugal has burst from its shell in recent years as one of Europe’s most desirable, accessible, and affordable destinations. Lisbon and the Algarve have become ‘household names’ for Europe buffs, but Porto, the nation’s gritty yet beautiful ‘second city’ on the Douro River offers is own treasures for those who make the trip. The most famous ones lay beneath the shores of Gaia, in the cellars of renowned Port wineries such as Taylor's. But the full story of Port – along with the rest of the Douro’s bounty – can only be found upriver.

Goway invites Globetrotters to board AmaWaterways’ Porto and Enticing Douro River Cruise, a 10-day round trip from the city that takes in the Douro Valley in all its beauty. Passengers visit Regua, Castelo Rodrigo, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies, Quinta da Avessada for lunch and a tasting, and even cross the border into Spain for a taste of Salamanca.

Including 7 nights aboard the spacious and perfectly appointed AmaDouro, plus 2 nights in Porto itself, this is a Douro cruise for discerning travelers. Those who book by March 31, 2019 will save $750 per couple on departures between April 2 and 21, 2019. Itineraries can be personalized, with additional Portugal travel added onto either side of the cruise. All accommodation, on-board meals, plus unlimited fine wine, beer, and soft drinks with wine and dinner are included.
